So.... is it universally accepted that GOODFELLAS is the GOAT movie of all time?

It was top 3 to me for a lotta years, but I like it less now, maybe because I've seen it too much.

Apocalypse Now and Godfather are the GOATS to me.

rothstein's problem was that he was too sensible which i can appreciate. dude was good with the numbers and dealt with everyone very business like, i don't think he was a simp as much as he was unable to comprehend that ginger was just a crazy ass bytch. ultimate case for #gmb right there. then you had joe pesci in an even bigger role than goodfellas him running around fukking up vegas

the first hour of casino is some of the slickest shyt i've ever seen. the narration in that segment >>> goodfellas. i like goodfellas but in general i feel like casino is just slicker. it's also a non-traditional mob type movie which i thought was dope

Yeah I can agree the 1st hour narration is some of the goat ever in casino. I think the rothstein simpin though got to me. It's like once he fired the commissioners nephew and married ginger that was the end.

Pesci was brilliant in both gf n casino. The scene where he basically tells the banker in casino hell fukk him up because he don't give a fukk is goat.

I can see what you are saying but thats why he nailed it. He always talks about being an outsider and never being able to be a made guy, and it showed in his personality. Thats what makes the ending so strong, he never really was one of them...

Yeah. He didn't whack anyone, didn't do the robbery. Only Pesci could be a made man, and deniro was already a goon/killer.

Even Henry hill said liotta was spot on

Try re-watching it without any assumptions. The acting, music and cinematography are world class. The plot (mostly in Michael's story) is pretty weak and doesn't even make sense in parts. Also, there aren't that many interesting connections between Vito and Michael's stories. It would have worked a lot better if we saw Vito forced into a life of crime to protect his family and Michael pursuing a life of crime at the expense of his family. That's what they want to suggest but it isn't clear enough.

Disagree but even if someone does agree, there's nothing overrated about Snatch

It's Elmore Leonard set in England. Which is a fantastic idea. Even if you think the machinations are too derivative of Leonard, he still gets his props for perfect execution and a great idea to move the concept across the pond.
