Stop pretending like MCD's $$$ right now dont make ends meet for what it was intended for

How do you know what or who it was intended for? Single people used to be able to get 40 hours a week at a fast food joint and live in the 80s....

There was a graph that stated that the average age was 28 for fast food restaurants......

Again if you are 17 getting out of HS, a mcd's $8hr job is perfectly fine to make ends meet..

If you are 45 and 3 kids, no it will not, but you shouldnt be applying to MCd's either

That was my point..

Stop pretending like MCD's $$$ right now dont make ends meet for what it was intended for. Some dude had 4 kids from 2 women and saying how he NEEDED the $15hr min wage...No you NEED better life decision making abilities, that is not what MCD's was meant to be

Also why should fastfood employees get this, why not everywhere? Kohls employees dont make $15hr, macys dont, home depot dont start at $15... why fast food joints specifically? They work the least hardest when it comes to expectations. So then what they make $15hr... how (if they even want to that that point) do they advance? do they apply at Home depot who offers $12, and say "currently making $15hr.... I want $19..."

Its not as simple as just giving people a 50% raise, how fair is it to everyone else in the world? You got landscapers busting their balls in 100degree heat making $12hr
I'm talking about a minimum wage bump breh.. no matter the job, 40 hours a week should be able to put a roof over your head and food on the table.. those aren't luxuries, they're basic human needs.

Now if you keep sticking your dikk in wrong places on that's on you and that's your fukk up..:manny: you need to get your shyt sorted out, and lets not act like $15/hr is housing/feeding/clothing anyone with kids.

In the past 15 years housing, food and gas went up, the only thing that remained the same were wages and more money is being made by mega corporations and the rich now than at any point in history... yet, somehow the people at the bottom are pieces of shyt because they they wanna eat :rudy:

In the 80s? Times have changed a bit....

We want our fast food to be cheap right? You raise operation costs it raises prices,, are you ok with the whole menu going up by 50%? People go ape shyt the second something is removed from the value menu, just imagine if they removed ti completely? And combos are $12+ instead of 8? These businessmen arent about to do that because its business suicide, now they will have a mgr, 1-2 workers and kiosks.

I am willing to bet there are a lot of members here that work hard as hell for $15hr or less and not in a fast food restaurant.

I wasn't being a prick but I studied this.

Their leaders failed them. No one said what if they automate our positions? They only way I see those jobs being saved is if the government offers a more than generous tax break to offset the hit and I doubt it getting passed.

Automation is the future. STEM workers gonna feel it when machines fix other machines, leaving people broke.

This is the new wave. At the end of the day the company's and their shareholders will not pay an entire staff of today $15. Soon if this is mandated across the board expect other industries to follow suit. Only human element will be providing the product and fixing the bugs for the software doing the tasks.

Blame the greedy CEOs

We are the hardest working country in the world. No other country works as much as we do(not even the japanese who are supposed to work the hardest/most) and it's because of these shytty wages that are paid in America. Prices always go up, but for some reason wages don't. So that bullshyt excuse about prices going up can go out the window cause they already are going up without wages going up. :snoop: Some of you need to read up and learn about how shyt works and stop getting suckered by these rich people that pay the crumbs.

And who polices the fact that people live outside of their means? I agree with you to a point but..
People that can afford a $150 car payment fall inlove with that car thats $300 a month
People that can afford a $800 rent bill, fall in love with that $1200 apartment...
Living beyond our means is the reason why 50% of mortages are higher then the homes value that they are on.

There is no way in hell they raise the min wage across the board to $15hr..

Y'all talking about fast food workers not needing a raise...yeah it's all fun and games until your job is the one being automated or outsourced next

Almost half of a all jobs could be automated in the next 2 decades

What Jobs Will the Robots Take?

Robots gonna take over. Jobs are gonna go extinct and basic income gonna happen :blessed:

That time is decades from now, and when that time comes a person of average intelligence and average work ethic will have very little to contribute to society. Lets just make the transition as smooth as possible brehs

What has changed with the time is inflation and the cost of living..... and wages have not kept up with either..... Also, fast food is not cheap. A combo is 7 to 8 bucks at most joints except McDonalds, so if going up 20% on menu items can compensate for 12-15 dollar wage then I'm all for it.

And I don't know if you've ever worked in fast food, but its not a lazy person's gig

Come back at me when your making $10-12hr working in landscaping or construction...

I have worked every level of job from shyt pay, to great pay, no physical labor to very labor intense. I am just saying there are WAY other outlets that need a pay increase before we raise the min at fast food joints to $15 that is all.

I can see if this was a scenario where everyone is making $15+ and fast food places are behind ,thats 1 thing. But that just isnt the case. I would rather see min wage across the board be raised a smaller % then so much attention just on this for 50% or so

COST OF LIVING! I don't give a fukk what you do with the money after the check goes into your account. If you're getting a wage that reflects the cost of living in your area/city/state then whatever mess you find yourself in is on you.

It's not really that hard a concept to grasp breh :smh:

I've worked construction @ 17 in the hot sun for $10/hr..

The thing is, y'all don't have a problem with the bump to $15, you only care about in as it relates to your personal salaries/wages. Which makes for a very simple solution.. take it up with your employer.

I love those self checkout things. Don't even have to wait in line, I see them cashiers, look at them like. :mjlol: Then go to the self checkout, they probably :sadcam: everytime.

I love them too, but when I get behind some idiot that doesn't understand the basic premise of scanning and bagging something or some old broad that bytches about a $.50 coupon, I get heated.
