Precisely. Here's the kicker though.. as we transitioned from the industrial age to a technological one there's a lot of people that weren't able to make that transition or at least do so in a timely fashion. So what happens to them? Now with automation on the horizon the rate at which machines and algorithms replace people in the work workforce is about increase 10 fold while companies pockets get lined with even more cash... so what's gonna happen to these people? Modern society has bred this toxic mindset where we think it's ok shyt on the poor and blame them for their mishaps. Like motherfukkers like being in poverty.. no worries though... shyt's gonna be at everyone's front door soon enough..

I'm just waiting for the tipping point... It's gonna be glorious :banderas:

Grown folks are conversating.. go finish your homework :camby:

How about they get with the fukking times!! If you work for a company and they say they are switching to a new product and you don't know , do you leave or learn the new product? People are responsible for keeping up with current times and the skillsets necessary to adapt. There is a lot of innovation in the fast food industry and automation was coming whether we like it or not, maybe those same people who work behind the registers can learn how to fix them.

see my last post, and once again all you guys want to do is put a band aid on Americas problem opposed to addressing the big issue of there not being any jobs nor any time of system to promote/create paths to entrepreneurship

America is not in the business of creating new jobs..... They're in the business of eliminating them which has been obvious for the last 25 years

I know this, and this is what people are ignoring. Fast Food pay is not the issue, jobs not existing is. It's like people are arguing over how to be the best bum opposed to questioning why do we even have bums anyway.

I get that. I just can't see how you can force govt/corporations to bring back old industries or innovate new ones, when they've been hell bent on eliminating or outsourcing them........ :yeshrug:

Give me a person any day of the week, can't speak for the pay, etc. though. It's hard to stop technology at this point. :manny:

This will be a pain in the ass like the self checkouts at grocery store.

We have bums because we're forcing everyone to "Annie up" to pay some middle man educational resource before they can earn a decent living wage. The jobs are there the requirements for eligibility are just ridiculous :martin:

And there it is.. someone who has worked at a automobile factory for 25 years supporting their family and putting their kids through school is just suddenly gonna get an office job with no prior experience with computers or anything.. just get with the times right? Not even taking into account that companies aren't tryna hire older heads when they can underpay college graduates who are willing do twice the hours and are much more efficient.

Avenues weren't created to help these people transition. As soon as companies realized they could get 3 times the work done for a fraction of the cost of human labor they became dead weight.. Same thing is gonna happen again, only, at a much faster rate and on a much larger scale.. let me hear you shout "get with the fukking times" then.. let me see just how many robotics engineers/mechanics and how many people are gonna be coding.. and how many college degrees are gonna become worthless overnight.. man.. some of you still don't get it :snoop:

MUURICA.

They want people working 2-3jobs just to make ends meet.

If you are working at wendys or mcd's as an a adult with kids, you fukked up somewhere though.

The whole point of those jobs is for kids out of HS to learn how to set a schedule, interact with people, manage money... Not support a damn family

$15hr x 40 hrs week x 52 weeks = $31,200 (not including any overtime)

There are point in this world with college degree's busting their asses making less then that. And I am not saying ALL fast food workers don't deserve it because some do, but think about some of the people you have dealt with in a fast food chain, if you were their boss, would you pay them $15hr? I have seen full blown fistfights between employees at my mcd's while ordering food.

So on that note, good... How much you think our fukking big macs gonna cost if you have 6-8 people running around behind the counter making $30k+ ea? Then what, we make posts saying how the hell is a big mac $11??

This whole idea was stupid, and its going to turn into automated ordering and paying, and owners will make even more money, all beacuse groups of people thought it was a good idea to ask for a 50%+ minimum raise...

How many people here got a 50% raise last year? How about 10%? 5?% I got no raise at all, I bust my ass, got my certs and all that "awesome" stuff.. This was just a stupid idea overall.

Huffington Post said:
A typical fast-food restaurant spends 30 to 35 percent of its income on labor, according to a recent release from the Employment Policies Institute, a research organization whose work is often cited by those who argue against increasing the minimum wage. The institute estimates that small-business owners who run McDonald's franchises spend about a third of their income on wages, which would mean the price of a Big Mac would go up by $1.28 to $5.27.

Dudes were going to hit everyone off with the automation anyways, this is just the excuse so they can say that the reason is something other than profit-seeking.

Right.. because that's why tech OEMs are using China as a sweatshop.. it's the people that slave for you that are the greedy ones for wanting to keep a roof over their heads.. :beli:

Lets not upset massa and keep thanking him for this opportunity to make him as much money as possible while we can barely make ends meet :rudy:

Please stop. Automation was always coming... there is no chill to human greed.. it's what fuels capitalism and it's been cheaper than oil prices as of late.

Again if you are 17 getting out of HS, a mcd's $8hr job is perfectly fine to make ends meet..

If you are 45 and 3 kids, no it will not, but you shouldnt be applying to MCd's either

That was my point..

Stop pretending like MCD's $$$ right now dont make ends meet for what it was intended for. Some dude had 4 kids from 2 women and saying how he NEEDED the $15hr min wage...No you NEED better life decision making abilities, that is not what MCD's was meant to be

Also why should fastfood employees get this, why not everywhere? Kohls employees dont make $15hr, macys dont, home depot dont start at $15... why fast food joints specifically? They work the least hardest when it comes to expectations. So then what they make $15hr... how (if they even want to that that point) do they advance? do they apply at Home depot who offers $12, and say "currently making $15hr.... I want $19..."

Its not as simple as just giving people a 50% raise, how fair is it to everyone else in the world? You got landscapers busting their balls in 100degree heat making $12hr

I love those self checkout things. Don't even have to wait in line, I see them cashiers, look at them like. :mjlol: Then go to the self checkout, they probably :sadcam: everytime.
