I dont think you understood my post.

America has no job industry for unskilled workers. Back in the day you could get a job in a factory and support your fam, it was hard work but it paid the bills. Those jobs are gone, now people are working jobs meant for HS kids. Now HS kids can't get part time jobs thus turn to doing illegal stuff. I remember in HS everyone wanted to work at a Shoe store, now why would a shoe store hire a kid, when they can hire an adult for the same pay, that has a car and can work odd hours? People should not be working at Popeyes in a non management role to support a family point blank, if you think this is normal or fine you are part of the problem. Many fast food spots have tuition reimbursement programs, that a lot of folks dont take advantage of. Point black the Job industry in America sucks, there is no middle ground, the high paying jobs require so much experience that there are no entry level positions for to even get the experience, and on the middle ground there is no decent industry where people who aren't as smart can make a decent living to support their fam, now common sense will tell you dont start a fam if you can't even support yourself, but life happens.

Yes I agree.

Harsh realities is also generations back a family was 5+ kids, now 2 kids.... soon its gonna be 1 kid. Or with Gays - no kids. Jobs aint out here for every human to survive. Gotta slow the birthrates.

The agenda.

Your post said it degrades the incentive to go to school for a trade or something similar. This is along the same lines as "welfare queens" that people talk about, or people
living high off of unemployment (something that person has paid into to eventually receive, though no one ever mentions that.)

No one is going to trade meaningful employment for Fast Food jobs. It just won't happen in numbers. I agree though, automation, outsourcing, and labor arbitrage has ravaged
the American economy and its living on borrowed time now. I was simply pointing out that no one out here is trading steady work for a modest pay bump that will pay
less in the long run.

Even then, making a career out of Fast Food is an issue, why is nobody acknowledging this? You have kids who can't get jobs to make their own money, and why should a company not save money on jobs a computer can do more efficiently for less overhead? This is Capitalism, and people only have an issue with it when they are on the short end of the stick. Once again, people dont become entrepreneurs to make sure other people can support their families, they open businesses to create wealth for themselves, and jobs are merely partnerships where someone is requesting the services of another person. In most industries if you want more pay you pick up new skills/certifications to be able to demand these higher wages and or promotion. How can you justify raising wages for a role that does not require skills? How can you justify increasing wages when there are other fast food companies the pay better and provide benefits? At the end of the day this is what you sign up for when you are a citizen of a capitalistic nation. The focus should be that America does not have a system to provide people skills to make more money, but even that is debatable as I went to college with TONS of non traditional students, who worked full time and did classes part time, you have accredited state schools offering online courses too, so what is preventing people from picking up courses to gain skills that pay? Hell you can get student loans and there are grants for people who make low income so what is the excuse?

I'm glad. These people don't deserve $15 an hour to flip burgers. My city has already started the $15 min wage hike.

you do understand the upfront cost of renovating stores is far less overall than the cost of keeping employees right?

Machines have low overhead cost compared to humans.

And Nobody eats bottom barrel fast food spots anymore, you have Casual Fast Food spots like Shake Shack that cost more, uses better ingredients and pay their employees more. Companies like Micky Ds are seeing losses for the first time because less people want to eat their and now you have people wanting more pay, lol Point of a business is to make profits, social responsibility is not , and when you work for someone you can't demand them to do a damn thing as they pay you what they feel you are worth and it is not government aid.
Minimum wage is set by the government...they can be demanded to pay more, and that demand is beginning, that's why he spassed on the call.

This is a no win situation for these spots...the minimum wage IS going up above 10.00 federally, they have to stimulate growth to the economy...the fast food restaurant that survive will be the ones that handles the curve kept staff and just increased sales...remember, if min. Wage goes up that's min. Wage everywhere for everyone...people will be spending money...you don't want to be the only restaurant making people self order because U cut staff...people will spend there money with the spot that kept paying people. They should have waited to see how others in the industry were going to adjust to this...then it wouldn't be them singled out alone

They're gonna pay more...and replacing those jobs with machines will be corporate suicide...they know:usure:

My thing is who are you or anyone to demand what Min Wage should be? IF min wage goes up then all pay should increase to reflect that. If and when Min wage increases, the cost of living will increase just like it did every other time min wage increases bringing inflation. Why is it an issue for someone to raise the question why an unskilled worker does not get a skill? Why do these people not have to be held responsible?

This makes to much sense if you're concerned about the general welfare of society..... but do you really think billion dollar banks/energy companies are about to lose money to help the betterment of America socially and economically?

They will lose money eventually. How are they going to make money if every industry is cutting jobs? Their greed will destroy American consumerism.

I went to school with numerous people who worked Fast Food, Wal Mart, Kroger, etc and upon finishing went on to become Managers or move into corporate roles. Many with kids and were grown (over 40yrs old). Why are we not focusing on others not gaining skills to warrant more pay?

Precisely. Here's the kicker though.. as we transitioned from the industrial age to a technological one there's a lot of people that weren't able to make that transition or at least do so in a timely fashion. So what happens to them? Now with automation on the horizon the rate at which machines and algorithms replace people in the work workforce is about increase 10 fold while companies pockets get lined with even more cash... so what's gonna happen to these people? Modern society has bred this toxic mindset where we think it's ok shyt on the poor and blame them for their mishaps. Like motherfukkers like being in poverty.. no worries though... shyt's gonna be at everyone's front door soon enough..

I'm just waiting for the tipping point... It's gonna be glorious :banderas:

Straight up, you have people who dont know how to operate a computer still but we are suppose to adjust for them? The issue at hand is the nation failed at creating industries and instead focused on increasing profits and minimizing overhead. At the end of the day Capitalism is legal, and in nature only the strong survive unfortunately. People fail to realize in other nations those who have no skills make even less money and literally have no hope of gaining skills. Nothing is stopping someone from taking out student loans, going to a state school online, and getting educated in a craft. You dont have to take out 100k in loans either, all that stuff is just people who made dumb decisions majoring in stuff that is not in demand. Its almost like we need a society like The Giver where you take a test and the Govt places you in your career, because you have people who won't take the initiative to gain some kind of skill.
