I never liked fukking Wendy's ever since their food made me throw up when I was a kid. I hope they go the way of Blockbusters and get replaced with Arby's.

Being able to communicate without the app is the skill. And your greatly underestimating the power of a dollar in other countries.

Being an innovator and running your own business isn't a plan, nor will it help in an overall bad economy.

fukk learning another language to professor status. I rather get a damn app and cut through years of mental strain. Basic expression and sentences, I don't mind studying that. Full blown conversations if I still live in America? fukk that! Even when I go overseas, I still want to learn the language the easy way and progress faster.

Besides, traveling the world for temporary work is not the endgame. That will leave you to being Gypsies status.

So let me get this straight... In order for wendys to be profitable, it needs its labour to be subsidized by the Federal and state government providing its workers with housing healthcare and foodstamps?

Doesnt that mean... Wendys isnt actually a profitable corporation and is being propped up by the tax payer? :ohhh:

If I learned anything from economics its that companies will always do what's in their best interest and consumers will always do what's in there's.

If you base all of your expectations on that basic theory, it's easy to see why the government has had to step in from time to time and forced companies into behavior that is inherently against their best interests, such as minimum wage, antitrust laws, etc.

The problem becomes that every time you force behavior that impedes that core desire, you create the potential for new unintended affliction. That companies desire to do what's in their best interest is like a river. You can divert it, but it never stops trying to go where it wants and if you restrict it too much it becomes a dam.

The trick in my mind is to understand that the way to make it in a companies best interest to increase wages, is to make it affect their business if they don't.

Consumers hold all the cards, not the government. I have healthier food options in my kids happy meal now and it's not because the government instituted a new law, it's because they lost business by not having it.

Customer Service is a skill..... Its the biggest industry in America.....
There is not much customer service going on in these places. I've got stories ( as we all probably do); but when I am at firehouse, and I am clear and adament about them not putting a pickle in the bottom of the box, and the order taker is looking me dead in my eyes and says " yes I understand" and on the receipt it also states " no pickle", yet I get home and open my sub and the foul stench and odor of pickle has pierced my nose and has gotten into my sub.

I had 1 simple request, yet they still couldn't manage it, but they deserve 15.00?

What has changed with the time is inflation and the cost of living..... and wages have not kept up with either..... Also, fast food is not cheap. A combo is 7 to 8 bucks at most joints except McDonalds, so if going up 20% on menu items can compensate for 12-15 dollar wage then I'm all for it.

And I don't know if you've ever worked in fast food, but its not a lazy person's gig
:laff: Who the fukk would pay $10-11 for a fast food meal

They would go out of business overnight

Then that $12-15 would drop to $0

Yall dont understand business

People being scared that fast food jobs will be automated is funny as shyt to me. I'm like, good they are shytty ass jobs that no one should want in the first place. At the same time I do realize that people feel that is there only option for employment and rely heavily on it to support their families. But I also believe there is a better opportunity, where you can do similar duties as you're doing in the fast food restaurant, but get paid more and that's where the energy should be focused, imo, not in line protesting to make your fast food job pay a "livable" wage.

Exactly. This is just a scare tactic...

And if you work in IT, you know how difficult it will be to automate all these jobs. Companies will invest MILLIONS and spend 5 years building basic HR and accounting software that doesn't even work then spend more millions and another 5 years trying to fix it. Now imagine having to do that with robots. We are a long way away from robots taking over every job...

This. I work in the automaton field. do not let these articles fool you. Companies waste so much money trying to save money.

Not worried about this whole robot take over crap.( at least in my lifetime ).

In order for capitalism to really work, the ones on the bottom have to stay fed..... and also, they're going to be the biggest workforce 9 times out of 10..... and when it gets to the point when they can't eat, the whole system is in danger of toppling....

/thread. I think Wendy's will try it and fail. there will be boycotts and bad press for them.

The poor has to stay poor. Not starve to death, that messes with the above classes.
