Two threads about an album that was supposedly "forgettable", "a failure", and "wack".

My thoughts on the album:

- Justin Timberlake shouldn't have been the first voice heard. It's Jay's album and it's the first song. I could understand if it was some sort of intro/interlude where Jay doesn't drop a verse, but it's a full song and there's more JT than Jay Z. Cool song, but shouldn't have been the first song especially since the featured artist is more prominent than the main performer. Dope beat, but sounded crazier in the commercial. That little part where the beat switches is still :whew: though.

- Jay Z wasted some of the production. "Tom Ford" screamed banger, but Jay never really shows up on the song. As is, it sounds like an interlude. Probably would've been more interesting if Beyonce as Third Ward Trill (that's who she's credited as) would've dropped a verse instead of ab-libbing. "Beach Is Better" sounded epic, but it's too short. "Versus" is another song that's short.

- "BBC" looked epic on paper, but was sounded more like a commercial for Pharrell's clothing line. There's several songs on the album that would've made a dope Nas/Jay collabo, but a Nas verse is wasted on this song. "FUTW", "Heaven", "Oceans",both parts of "Picasso Baby", and even the "Holy Grail" beat are tracks that would've been more suitable.

- Nothing classic on the album, but there were several good, even great songs on the album. I never expected the Jay/Beyonce collabo to be one of the best, if not best songs on the album given their previous track record. "Heaven", "Picasso Baby", the played out by radio "Holy Grail", "Oceans", "Jay Z Blue", "Somewhere In America", "La Familia", "Beach Is Better", "FWitMeUKnowIGotIt" and "Nickels and Dimes" were all dope IMO.

The only two tracks I still like off of this is "Tom Ford" (which is a banger) and "Fukkwitme" and that's it. The rest is really forgettable.

Brooklyn son
Mediocre trash. The only songs I liked were Heaven, FWMYKIGI, um maybe the joint with nas. Oh and verses. That beat was fire. Everything else... Trash.
