Wherever nikkas need to be told on
We are 50 million under the cap and currently have gabbert as the starter. Trust me we having a losing ass season and no future with or without the trade
I understand. So, given that the losing season is inevitable, wouldn't they consider saving $7Ms and gaining a mid-rounder in this year's draft?

I guess the 9ers could eat the whole $12M (:dame:), have a QB who doesn't want to be there, move forward with another losing season, and lose out on a draft piece for the future :manny::ehh:

Don't cave, Elway :amused:
The niners have something like 56 million dollars in cap space WITH that 12 million factored in. It's a non issue.

And I doubt they care whether Kap wants to be there or not. If he wants to retain some glimmer of a career he'll show up to camp and try to win the starting job. He's a 29 year old "rushing Qb" he doesn't have seasons to be wasting.

The chance at a revived 2013 Kap may be worth more to the 9ers than 12 mill and a 4th round pick.

This is why I think the Broncos have the leverage here, not the 9ers.

no... they wouldn't... cause they aren't dumb.. that money and pick ain't about to turn into shyt.. i mean it's not like we don't have 12 already...

we are better off with kaep for a year in chips system... we'd win more for 1.. but more importantly, he's still signed to us, and after a better season, we can get better value after next year

Gabbert is trash. While you were impressed by him I saw a career back up. Dude plays like a poor mans Alex Smith. He won't be able to catch teams by surprise now. He actually declined at the end of the season.

We need a better QB.

Kaep played well when the oline was good. His struggles appeared when the oline fell off. Him and Blaine still played with a different oline. They only made changes to the line after the benching. But let's ignore that.
Kaep is hot garbage. He was mediocre when line was good. Let's ignore the poor decision making this guy has. He's a one trick pony. Nothing more. Nothing less.

They benched Devey. They didn't do much else to the line. Gabbert had no rb. Kaep had Hyde. I still want to see what Gabbert can do. Of course look for your future qb. But this draft doesn't have it either. Goff damn sure is not the answer.

I'm not sold on Goff either. People keep pinning him as our 7th pick but i just don't see it. This draft is purely defensive and I can see Baalke getting Cook and letting him ride the bench with Gabbert or Kap if no trade is met going into the season

@JLova is closer to right than you are. Gabbert is unlikely the answer. His average air yards per attempt last year was on par with Alex Smith's and his adjusted yards per attempt in 2015 was far worse than Alex Smith's. These numbers imply that Gabbert sucks. Therefore Niners shouldn't factor Gabbert into the forthcoming QB equation. Any of Goff, Wentz and Lynch has a better chance of being a franchise QB. If Goff isn't available draft Wentz. If Went isn't available draft Lynch.

If you're not sold on Goff, just draft Wentz or Lynch, or Cook in the 2nd (if he's there). QB is the most important position and comes before even defense. Goff is not the only good QB in this draft. There's about 4 potential starters with possibly a bust in there somewhere (Cook or Wentz).

fukk drafting Wentz or Lynch in the first round, we have much bigger holes and there's gonna be better talent on the board at 7. I wouldn't touch those guys until the 2nd max. Even then.

I don't like the idea of drafting any of these QBs with the #7 pick. I'd rather go after a guy like Cardale Jones (even though they say Chip dislikes Black QBs) I think he'll be available in the 3rd round, he's raw but he's got a rocket arm and can be coached up.
