So tactically, what can the Cavs do to defeat the Warriors?

First, wait for the real finals versions of Katey and Steph show up, and they will.

First adjustment that will be made from last game is stop the fast break points, which they will. Last night was fools gold for GS fans. Cavs played their worst and Kyrie hasn't even been unleashed yet.

Not to mention Lebron's turnovers will obviously go down.

Cavs in 6.

Lebron FMVP

How was it fools gold for GSW when they missed a lot lot of easy shots and Klay wasn't even hot? What a ridiculous statement.

I mean, if we talking about having a legitimate chance, that's really what needs to be done :francis: Me personally, I think Kyrie and Love can handle the scoring load for the Cavs. Bron's gotta put the clamps on KD, and slow the game down to limit shots for the Warriors. The fundamental thing here will be the defense. If Bron can put in a GOAT defensive performance on KD, and they can keep the Warriors to under 80 FG, they can turn things around drastically. But I think KD is just too good right about now. I think its more likely KD puts the clamps on Bron and keeps him under 25, but we'll see tomorrow.
Bron has never actually done such a thing though
Even at 23 bron couldn't really guard kd like that and had Shane battier doing that

Kevin love can't get his own shot with iggy klay draymond javale or zaza guarding him. He is basically Channing frye except frye can probably hit those shots love was getting

Kyrie is the one they want to keep from scoring and they actually are daring bron to not only shoot over kd and iggy but dare him to try to post up and cross court pass with all those athletic defenders out there. Cavs showed their hand and no one is talking about it...they got dray in foul trouble earlier but the dubs plugged in iggy and javale and the defense didn't miss a beat

Lebron needs to stop trying to drive, seriously, its not working in his favor, even when he uses it to bait the double team.

Kyrie needs to stop playing hero ball, we don't care who you cross, if you're missing and not putting major points in.

Love needs to drive in more, surprise the Warriors with some intimidation, he's way too passive.

Jefferson, needs to sit more, you can see the lack of stamina getting to him.

They all need to stop shooting three's, and make it a jumper oriented game. Slow it down and score the positive 2 instead of the iffy 3.

I don't know why teams try to run with the Warriors and to be honest I don't even think that will matter :mjlol:...GS defense is on another level so if you give them a chance to set up :dame:

Also if they keep giving Durant those transition points :hhh:

Rebound the basketball. Dubs had 20 more shots. I thought that was a strength of the Cavs.... TT was a no-show game 1

Is there a line up they could go to that forces Dray not to be able to roam? Love at the 5 Bron at the 4 or some shyt like that?
But what happens with loves transition defense? Dray is the primary ball handler, u just can't put love on him

Slowing the pace down only strengthens the Warriors defense, a defense which is already 100x better than the Cavs in a vacuum. And as you know, league-wide FG% decreases with every second that goes by on the shot clock - why decrease your chances even more against the best defense in the league; a defense which has multiple lineups that can switch on nearly every position?

Just look at how the Warriors can handle the Cavs when they slow the game down, look at the proximity of the primary and help defenders and how they have more time to think/adjust -

Look at how LeBron scored the majority of his points -

Early in the shot clock, before the Warriors defense had a chance to get set and work out what to do.

The only hope of winning is fighting fire with fire against this team. I said it last season when they were down 1-3 (as did Lue), and once they started attacking early, and got into their actions before the Warriors had time to get set and switch/adjust properly, what happened? They came back and won. Warriors went up 3-1 when the game was played at a 93 possessions per 48mins pace; the Cavaliers came back when the game increased to a 95 possessions per 48mins pace. This is just a example of what happened last season -

It was much of the same for the first half of the series, once they managed to find a ratio that favored shots earlier in the shot clock they managed to take a better control of the games.

They will get smoked trying to run with Golden State. These numbers don't mean anything. They tried to go shot for shot in the 3rd quarter and Lebron was ready to pass out. They don't have the scoring power or punch, especially on the road. There are 2 guys on Cleveland that can initiate early offense, as opposed to 6 on Golden State, with at least 3 of them being on the court at any given time.

Idk that's why I was asking. Love gon get beat regardless so might as well try it right? :yeshrug: spread them out on defense and try to limit his help abilities on defense. Probably lose the rebounding even more cause TT ain't in there tho :patrice:
