Yeah - I find that whenever privilege is discussed, there's an inherent lack of nuance involved, which is why I tend to find it easier to have discourse with intersectional feminists because even if I may disagree with something they have said, they have a greater understanding of nuance. I can acknowledge that my blackness counts against me as a disadvantage in western society but my manhood will negate that in parts compared to women and transgenders (even gays to an extent, but white gay men tend to retain a high level of power themselves).
I agree wholeheartedly with the last sentence. I had to examine how pro-black I really was if I was going to be excluding other black people because of their orientation, gender or otherwise. If I'm for black liberation for all, surely that must include black gays, black trans etc?
