Cheese Whiz is really a Pat's steak thing...

Pat's is probably the most famous cheesteak spot in philly due to all these travel shows, cooking shows going there and ordering "Wiz Wit"...

So then people for some reason think a true cheesteak has whiz on it...

Exactly. Spent my youth in northeast jersey thinking you used provolone on a cheesesteak, then everyone was clowning saying where’s the cheese whiz.

A lot of the bodegas I’ve been to in philly used marinara too. Had never seen that before traveling out there.

Didn’t know that about Pat’s though. Appreciate the knowledge!

Nothing wrong with how they making it, they just aint chop the meat up right.
Some places dont chop the meat, even in Philly... not the popular option.
:mjpls: Nothing wrong with the preparation and cooking? That looks appetizing to you.

I know the literal aerosol Cheez Wiz is a Pat's thing, but what about that melty cheese that they use at Jim's? I actually like that stuff more than white American on my steaks

I was gonna say... to me that looks like someone in New York City making cheesesteaks. Maybe in Central Park or some shyt like that. Someone is always trying to sell u some bullshyt out here. :russ:

And why is everyone clowning Cheez Whiz? I personally hate that nasty shyt, but for years people would say it wasn’t a real cheesesteak without cheez whiz. Is that not the case anymore?

Yeah, there are bullshyt food vendors like that in any big city. I'm not a cheesesteak snob but that looked like some overpriced bullshyt

:russ: Italian dude behind the counter in the bodega (had never seen that before either) was looking at me like I was slow, cause the first time I saw that shyt I was like helllllllll no. Crazy what I envisioned a real cheesesteak to be, only to see how different it was when I went to the source.

shyt is good tho!

It could be whiz or they could be melting their own cheese.

I don't mind melted cheese just not the canned/jarred processed shyt .
