Drop the price? The price is the same as Spotify if you want the same quality. The high-end stuff costs $20.
Only difference here is that the media would rather have companies that have very little to do with music make more money off it and keep the status quo. Everywhere you read, only the $20 is mentioned but the context is not articulated to readers.

the consumer doesn't care about their gripe, they want to know what makes tidal different, it's the lossless option at $20, the $10 option is nothing worth reporting on

Jay Z himself said that he sees no point in buying the 20 dollar option unless you have dope equipment. Whether or not the consumers cares about his gripe is the only thing of relevance in a discussion of marketing because he did not market the 20 dollar option. The main reason why Tidal is not being downloaded is because they ask for your credit info off the bat and they do not offer an extended free trial like Spotify.
