The Knocker-Up

Although the first alarms were built, most people don’t possess them yet; for this reason, at the beginning of the last century, there was a well-remunerated profession: the knocker-up! These people were moving from house to house and to wake people up, knocking on their doors or on the windows of their bedrooms.

:ohhh:

By the 1940s and 1950s, this profession had died out, although it still continued in some pockets of industrial England until the early 1970s.[4]...

Some knocker-ups would not leave a client's window until they were sure that the client had been awakened, while others simply tapped several times and then moved on.[7] :mjlol:

... In Ferryhill, County Durham, miners' houses had slate boards set into their outside walls onto which the miners would write their shift details in chalk so that the colliery-employed knocker-up could wake them at the correct time. These boards were known as "knocky-up boards" or "wake-up slates".[10]

yes ppl used to have "2 sleeps" they would sleep a couple hours wake up have a snack, maybe do more chores then go back to sleep.
I DO THIS!! Oh snap, this is a thing!?

They went to bed on time. When you don’t stay up late, you have no problem getting up early.

I always set an alarm, but I never really need it

After a few weeks of having the same routine, your body will naturally wake up around the same time every morning.

I wake up at 6 every morning even on the weekends. My routine has woken me up at 6 for over a decade.

I'm not sure why tho, because I don't have shyt to do at 6 so I just start working.

Can’t remember but I read somewhere people used to sleep as soon the sun goes down, wake up after some hours, have sex at the late late then back sleep and wake up in time refreshed for a new day.

Body and mind all relaxed of course
full

Humans used to practice biphasic sleep until electricity came through like snoop
