u know what makes this funny is that none of yall have mention nothing about the technical aspects of rhyming yet yall keep saying big is better but not going into detail

Technically BIG was better. In every possible way that one person can be better than another when it comes to rapping - BIG>Wayne.

And that's just rhyming.

Lets not forget that BIG made better albums and songs.

Lets also remember that Wayne was a joke his first 4-5 years "Lil Wayne Lil Zane duet"??

And Wayne was really nice with his for more than a few years. I really enjoyed Carter 2-3. Wayne's spit some really nice verses - but he just has so much garbage. Name one wack Biggie verse. One.

man wayne has dominated/been relevant in like 3 different rap generations

i aint even a wayne fan like dat no more and its been damn near 4 years since that lol that let you know how long he been doin it

Biggie got the Young Jeezy affect...as in his association with other nikkas boost his history up

only reason why Big is mentioned as greatest of alltime was cuz of Tupac
and Tupac and Biggie are not even close not even in the same state two totally different levels of greatness

This is revisionist bullshyt. If you were around back then you would already know how dominant Big was in 94-95.

Yeah but it was a mixtape that I fukked with heavy that dropped over a decade after I first started checking for wayne's material...I'm using "era" as a time stamp here...like if Biggie was still around dropping shyt I bumped in 2005 or some shyt

You're improperly using the word. By your definition this current era of rap is the Roast beef sandwich era - since I had one for lunch today and it serves as a time stamp for me.

me
B.I.G was the perfect rapper. What didnt he do well? Probably married commercial appeal with hood sense better than anyone before or since. This thread is borderline blasphemous. Hip hip pass revoked. There have been some embarrassing threads in this booth lately.

took the words outta my mouth. these nikkas crazy!!

thats your argument bro?

lol cmon bro you knwo better than that
Biggie was good i aint even dissing
but dog tryna compare Tupac with Biggie? thats crazy
i put Biggie more on a 2nd tier level of good rappers

its not even fair if we start goin song for song lol

and please please please try not to include vintage Wayne

IMO Big > Pac. I can see an argument the other way though. Big was better at rhyming - that's without question. Nobody did more with pedestrian emcee skills than Pac.

biggie never made any songs like pac if he did not alot
Pac can have a whole album of just positive messages nothing else
biggie cant do that

TI, Wayne,Kendrick Lamar (already yep),Kanye West all better than Biggie and they not even from his generation

Biggie never had a chance to fall off. His catalogue is flawless. He went out on top. His last verse is considered one of the best verses of all time. People are starting to hold his short career against him but it's not like he asked to die. You have to judge him by what he accomplished not what he would or could have done if he wasn't murdered. It's like saying a great television show isn't good because it only lasted two seasons and this one is better because it lasted ten.

A good point that people brought up was that Biggie came out the gate SMOKING, and he was only getting better before he died. You cant say the same about alot of other rappers. Even 2pac. Imagine if Pac died right after S4MN or Jay died after Vol.1 :usure:

Biggie had natural star power, he didnt even need to work on it throughout his career and sharpen his skills, like so many other rappers had to.

Never really realized it until I read the stickied Wayne thread; very good points were made.

At this point of his career, Wayne has far surpassed Biggie. Of course Big was at a slight disadvantage with his career being shortened (then again, it evens out with how much he was blown up after he died)

But it's safe to say Wayne >>>>>>>

These Pac/Big comparisons need to stop.....it should now be Pac/Wayne, if anything. Big wasn't even close to Pac to begin with. :yeshrug:

Wayne better than biggie:childplease:

I am on youtube watching old school songs and I was just thinking to myself these new generation rappers have nothing on people decades ago...Look at this young Shyheim song at the bottom of my post and tell me what Wayne has on him. I cant even listen to the dude all he said is I am this I am that, I am like this and that in everysong...dont believe me play your favorite wayne track and count to "10" and you will hear it..tired of hearing bragging and lame wack lines like "I got the streets hot...firemarshall.. and all that bs..The truth of the matter is that he has such a following that anything he makes is going to be a hit and thats why the little quality he had from cash money days is gone, people will support him no matter what. I hear him on a track screaming and yelling and thinking what type of drugs is he on.

Put it this way if it was me or you to make the song it would get 0 spins and people would be like who is this wack artist on the radio.. Like I said tell me what wayne had on this 15 year olds track, and to say he is more talented than biggie is crazy...
