Hard to give him credit for anything when everything still runs through Coke Boy. Everything the know-it-alls HAVE been giving him credit for (Sin Cara, revamped tag/Diva divisions...) hasn't worked out as well as people thought they would.

When Coke Boy is dead :ahh:, let's revisit this thread.

I think one thing that he has been very good at is making sure that any new talent that shows up has a clear-cut gimmick and a real purpose for being on the show. It used to happen with almost everyone that debuted, but for a long time, they were randomly debuting lots of new people with no set-up and with no particular reason for anyone to give a fukk. But over the last couple years, there hasn't been any massive influx of new people just popping up and no one knowing who the fukk they or their characters were. We know Cesaro, we know Ryback, we know Sandow, the Shield, even fukkin' Fandango and Brad Maddox- because they all have an identity. It's been said that he's specifically ordered this to happen, and not to debut anyone unless they have a real character and a general idea of what they want to do with them, and it shows.

And of course it hasn't been perfect. Sin Cara isn't the big hype he was promoted to be, and the Kharma situation didn't pan out (I can't say "flopped" because it's not like she got a push and it didn't get over- she got pregnant, had to take leave, and had a traumatic experience- not the same thing). Yeah, the Divas division has dwindled but that shyt ain't been poppin' since like '07... and they don't have a Trish/Lita/Mickie on that roster now, so I'm glad it's being de-emphasized. The tag team situation I wish would get back on track... they have enough people to revamp it, but the attempts have been half-hearted at best. I don't think it'll ever get like it was in the late-80s/early-90s or the early-2000s, but it's worth a shot.

All in all, I think he's made some good decisions over the last couple years. There's not a bunch of non-descript muhfukkas clogging the roster (2006 shyt), there's not a bunch of models who didn't even wanna wrestle before being offered the job (Johnny shyt), and most of the new additions have freshened up the show. HHH is also somewhat of an old school-minded/wrestling historian type guy so I think there's still some improvement to come.

Sammartino, Jericho being back, video packages before people are brought to the main shows, and longer title reigns have been accredited to Trips in the sheets. I think all of those are good things but I wouldn't say he's saved anything or I feel optimistic about the future if he's given the reigns.

It's hard. I can admit I'm still "mad" or whatever phrase you wanna call it at the obvious "let's forcefully raise Hunter's historical standing agenda no matter the cost" that's taken place over the last 10 years. So I usually jump at the opportunities to shyt on him :manny:

It does seem like he's trying, he's an old school head which I respect about him. If he gets his ego out the way good can come of it, he's been a wrestler forever, has wrestled on the top and bottom of cards so he knows what's up.

I just worry with him even as a part time performer that until he's no longer a wrestler he can't look at things fully objectively. Hopefully he's positioning the right people to help out. Not everyone is Vince where he feels everything must go thru him and him only. I feel very wait and see with Hunter as "the guy". It's too soon to start shooting executive Trips down just yet.

This is quite simple, there are great wrestlers all over the roster, and most of them are in prime positions.

Daniel Bryan is a main player in the WWE
CM Punk held the title for 434 days
Antonio Cesaro got the UIS title very quickly and is booked as a beast
Ziggler is a main player

Then you look at developmental, and he's bringing in the best WRESTLERS on the indy scene. He signed El fukking Generico for christs sake.

Then you look at the presentation of the product and the way they bring wrestlers up. They debut them w/ old school style vignettes to introduce the characters to the audience instead of just shoving them on TV.

Let's be honest here, the WWE is in the best shape it's been in in years. The future is bright as fukk

Considering the years of animosity, getting Bruno Sanmartino back involved with the WWE is a huge deal. That was all HHH.

shyt, even forgot about that.

We don't really understand how much that shyt means to the old time fans, my dad always said the WWE HOF was BS because Bruno wasn't in it.

Exactly, I don't know how people know what Levesque has or has not personally handled (Sheamus/Botch Cara notwithstanding), in order to give him credit for. I'll reserve judgment till Vince bites the dust.

I think we all know Vince McMahon did not sign El Generico and Chris Hero.

I already spoke on dbry and Cesaro, both Vince guys.

Punk has already been discussed as well.

I will give him credit for Hero, El Generico and Bruno Sammartino.

As far as the bringing guys up with a defined character this is true he has pushed thus. But this goes through periods in WWE. For example I remember vignettes for Kizarny, Mordecai etc.. That went nowhere.

In the future read through one of my threads before wildly posting.

He has had some good moments as well as some bad ones. But i still think his influence is a little overstated. Because until he dies Vince Mcmahon is the final decision maker in the WWE.
