Exactly,the hood is full of some of the greatest philosophers of our time,and I'm not just talking about the rappers....where else do nikkas have thought out philosophys on everything from puzzy scents up to how the universe works
...WHoever the modern day Socrates is,I feel like I know at least 20 hood nikkas who could take him down in a debate,have him sittin indian style and gettin a a new perspective on life:THis argument really is the end all be all of arguments,its that argument suburbanites and hipsters,and artist who they love try to downplay the shyt out of....But in reality they are very insecure about the fact they favorite artist get no love in the hood,and so is that artist....Possibly insecure because they themselves didn't fit in and were considered weirdos.....So what do they do?Lash out at the streets and everything in it
Its funny it works the same way in life as it does with hiphop,you find that either suburbanite nikkas either reject the hood and everything about it,secretly upset and feeling like a outsider....Or you get the suburbanites who try EXTRA hard to fit in and often end up in a bad place,or forced to get that wake up call they not about that life
The streets gotta realize we made these people feel like outsiders forever in real life and hiphop unfortunatley,Now the floodgates have been opened where their opinion actually matters with the internet where you can fake having a credible opinion,and hipster blogs....They are simply giving us a taste of our own medicine trying to make us(the streets) feel like outsiders now
But in the end just remember deep down they still feel like outsiders and want that validation, as much as every rapper ever pretty much has wanted....this is really one of the few arguments that cant be debated OP.
I agree Jay and Nas didn't get play like that,but if you make that statement,you would quickly be corrected by nikkas from hoods(especially from east coast) lookin at you like you crazy.....Kindve like what happened in this thread actually when you said that
Not that you were innacurate,cuz folks never believe me when I say my nikkas would rather listen to Bleek and Beans than Jay,and I'm a Jay stan myself....But alotta nikkas really only want to hear that hard shyt if that's what they used to,Jays delievery and subject matter is too "light" overall.
