Now I understand that the zeal people normally reserve for religion is now being applied to political leanings; turning groups of people who pride themselves on "open mindedness" toward burying their heads in the sand the same ways as the delusional republicans they hate so much.

Do your research. There's plenty of articles on the Internet that break this down to the point where they basically showcase the lies, the person behind the lie and the reason. It's disturbing.

As for the idea of rape culture in terms of women being degraded, berated where some guys think it's okay to abuse women on some shyt. It's basically misogyny which obviously has been around forever. If you look throughout history, misogyny has been normalized where it's expected for men to mistreat women and women to accept such behavior. Even to the point where there were laws historically that basically allowed rape or dehumanized women where in terms of married couples, the woman was considered to be the property of the man where he could rape her and it would be legal. It's deep. The idea of rape culture is a shortcut to avoid looking at the deeper issue in regards to how women have been treated in society which involves religion, gender roles, gender, sexism, sexual attitudes, respect and etc.

Feminism basically was a movement to counteract against all of that with a radical approach so rape culture was a concept that explained that in terms of feminist theory. All in all, it's really misogyny.

This goes back to the main issue with social justice warriors. Many of these folks that are ready to jump and charge at all these issues genuinely do not give a fukk about the real issues at hand. Half of them are basically cosigning because they want to use that shyt to make themselves look compassionate or be pretentious on some shyt. Most of them dont even want to do the research or go deep. They are looking are focusing on the symptoms and not the real issue. Similar to the bs known as black lives matter focusing on some of the police shootings of black males and avoiding to go deeper with the issue at hand where they weren't about providing solutions as well as persons taking advantage of the solution for their own gain. They aren't educated enough either because they didn't do the research or they never had anyone to explain or give them the rundown on shyt.
