Honestly, there is no difference.

-Both faked accents, southern and otherwise, for a minute.

-Both don't write their rhymes.

-Both got fake personas.

I almost feel bad for Iggy. She basically got chased out for being a phony, yet Drake continues to get a lot of shine even after getting caught being phony via the reference tracks among other things. Not to mention him changing accents like its nothing and no one in the mainstream blinks.

Makes one wonder what was the point of kicking her out then?
Also makes me lose alot of respect for legitimate artist who cosigned this nikka and hos bullshyt just because he's popular

1. The only song any non Iggy fan knows her for is Fancy.... which is her only #1 single

2. Your whole premise is a strawman.... find somebody who isn't a cotton candy blood type Drake stan who has argued that Drake's cultural appropriations are OK

Not to mention where were you when he was appropriating southern accents and grime chat..... all of a sudden now that hes come for your culture u want nikkas to give a fukk? :camby:

1.So you're saying that T.I. just threw her in the bushes after having one of the biggest songs out? Just because a song doesn't hit #1 doesn't mean it wasn't successful. Her career was flourishing until they went at her head for the accent.

2. How can you say my argument is strawman then in the same breath say I have to find a certain kind of person. All I asked was a question. What's the difference between what he's doing and what iggy did?

Yes but he's Canadian. One drop rule doesn't apply to him
Maybe it doesn't in Canada...I don't know about Canada.

I know about the US. Here he would be perceived by police officers, store employees, etc. etc. as a black man. Cops aren't gonna treat him 50% better. Store clerks aren't gonna watch him shopping 50% less.

You know this. I know this.

Iggy will never be mistreated by the police because of the fact that she is a white woman. Same with shopping.

There's a whole bunch of other shyt too.

That's the difference.

Ludacris is from Champaign Illinois and went to High School in Northern VA.
Moved to atlanta maype senior year and got that job soon afterward.
Dude had TWO obscure chicago rappers signed to his label since he started.
It was kinda of rhetorical. :yeshrug:

edit:He been living in the south over half his life and STILL picked up no accent...:dwillhuh:

Ross when he isn't trying to be "the boss" is and sounds like a Dade County guy. Gunplay is all the way Dade sounding.

Drake got a Jamaican accent two weeks ago. Last year he was southern.
My thing is, outside of rap and interviews nobody knows cept the people that hang around them and people from M I A that know Dade county..

If you NEVER heard of Ross or Gunplay and they never mentioned Miami, you wouldnt think them to be from the south.

Isnt Trick from Dade County?

Now THAT nicca sounds country like I said before..

We all know Drake is a fraud, tho...

This is a question that needs an answer. A minute ago he was running with somalis and their slanguage wasn't "bleeding" into him. Now that meek exposed him about the QM giving him that country talk and have to find a new wave to ride he's on "di man dem ting" :comeon:

As real Jamaicans say "ALL OV A SUDDEN SUH,DIS AH IM NEW TING!" :martin:

Drake sounded way more "country" when he first came out, years ago before QM was even around

then ud know that Miami is notoriously culturally distinct from the South and that includes the way they talk
Yeah.

I wasnt all over M I A like that tho....just Ocean Beach :shaq: and parts of Dade where the homie moms lived..

But Im not speaking on the way they talk..Im speaking on how they SOUND.

Ross and Gunplay sound worlds apart from Trick Daddy and Trina (whom Im using as a rapper with a southern dialect from Miami)

And watching them episodes on the first 48 bout the Pork n Beans..them niccas sound country...
