there is no argument, but there is a disagreement over what is owed
slaves were not free. adjusted for inflation, a slave would cost $40,000 in today’s money
the sellers of slave labor were compensated at the time of sale
this issue is impossible to solve because the buyer feels they have already paid for the labor and do not owe anything and the workers feel they have not been paid
this situation can only be resolved through violence. neither side is interested in the other sides point of view. no matter how many people will die in the process, I don’t see either side giving in to compromise
