That's not going to happen.

Jets screwed up by paying the wrong guys and have no choice to deal him now.

so in turn, paying the wrong guys cost us our best player, and to compound the punishment, we'll be dealing him for players we KNOW won't be half as good as Revis.

Might as well deal Cro, cut every stinking piece of shyt. Swallow the cap hits. Cut Fez. Start David Garrard and Brady Quinn (actually that may make the team better, don't cut Fez yet), and don't half ass this.

There isn't a single selling point for next season. Our 2 most promising players are pass rushers that don't rush the passer by design. Is it too much to ask to cut bait with the players we can't stand since we're gonna get rid of the player we want to see?

He's a smart man for this though, his best decision yet.

How you going to rebuild a team when your diva corner is gonna want you to break the bank in 2014?

You can get some good picks for the guy and your defense wasn't much worse without him last year.

YES IT WAS!!! Why is this retarded shyt uttered so much? When you're getting your ass kicked 38-0, 35-3, etc. why keep throwing? When teams wanted to pick on Kyle, they did. Ask the Titans.

You probably think our O-Line was legitimately the third best one in football too.

What's the point of keeping Revis though.

So you can watch one player be very good at his job and ignore the opportunity to build for the future?

The Jets have a chance to cash in off of Revis, instead of Revis cashing in off of them.

While Revis is the best in the league at what he does, the Jets defense wasn't much worse without him in 2012. The team was 6-10 w/out him and 8-8 with him in 2011.

A smart GM would notice his impact isn't as great as it may seem, even if he is your best player, the impact just isn't substantial enough to pass up the opportunity to get some good pics.

Also, with Revis' comments lately he doesn't even seem to want to be a Jet. I think there is no guarantee he`ll be a Jet in 2014 if you don't trade him. Might as well get something for him

Those games when you were getting blown out were just as much on the offense for letting up those points.

Your defense is obviously better w/ Revis, but it's not that much better.

Like I said, fukking 6-10 in 2012 w/out Revis, 8-8 w/ Revis in 2011.

Where is the huge dropoff?

We're going to suck, that's obvious.

Tannenbaum overpaid the wrong guys and it cost us Revis. Sanchez, Holmes, Harris were the biggest culprits

He's 27. Why can't he be a huge part of the future? He's still younger than some of the other "remaining core members"

The Jets have a chance to cash in off of Revis, instead of Revis cashing in off of them.

So we cash in by trading Revis for let's say a very late 1 and a 2014 2. Those picks basically have to go towards replacing Revis and Landry. Otherwise, now you'll have a secondary with the gape of Ava Devine's rectum.

The soft schedule had a lot to do with that.

Not if we pay him, and that won't break the bank. If they're so worried about breaking the bank, then clear ALL liabilities minus Fez this summer.

Those picks could lead to getting you a QB, and that will do more than Revis or Landry could to making the Jets a winner for years to come.

You can still offer that dude money and he could still bounce. Say you go 4-12, which is entirely possible, you think Revis is going to want to sign long-term to that?

He is already talking about how awesome it would be to get a chance to play for a ring. There is gonna be a playoff caliber team who can pay him just as much as you can.

That's my whole point.

2013's gonna be a joke, you think Revis is going to want to sign onto a franchise that went from 2 championship games, to 8-8, to 6-10 and then to possibly 5-11, 4-12.

In the NFL, money plays more of a factor than winning titles like the NBA. If the Jets throw the most money at him Revis, I think he'd re-sign.
I don't think trading Revis for picks is going to help turn the franchise around any faster. The Jets need a QB and none of those picks they would get back from a team will be high in the 1st.

But look at dudes like Kaepernick and Wilson. A 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder.

Trading Revis would allow the Jets to take a shot on guys like them. Talented players but with a caveat attached.

And while I agree if the Jets throw $14m a year at him he`d probably stay there, is that good business. Just grossly overpaying a guy.

A contending team will offer him 10-11 mil a year and he`ll bounce for that offer.

TYRONE GA!
My opinion is he is going to go to Atlanta. They have showed they`re not afraid to deal draft picks for an impact guy (Julio Jones) I can see them giving up this years #1 and next years #2 for Revis.

They're gonna start getting desperate down in Atlanta.

alot of the fans here don't want him knowing the salary demands that come with him. You don't deal a 1 and 2 for a year rental. They still gotta pay Ryan and add more talent.

Revis might be pricing himself out of teams fukkin with him. With the cap situations and teams having to pay 20 mill for a franchise QB now, you'd be dumb to pay 7 figures to a CB no matter how good they may be. You still got Revis coming off an knee injury as well. Dale Carter 2.0 could happen.

I personally don't want him as a 49er for a 1 and a 2.

Rental Revis with the bad knee, too much of a risk.

yea I dont see ATL keeping both him and grimes. ATL beatwriter already said jets are trying to leverage against the 49ers...but then our beatwriters also said its prolly not happening...

jets are trying to artificially keep the price high before they sell, imo.

Grimes is a FA, I see your point on them trying to leverage against us.

That soul still burns.
