I have cube higher on my all-time list but Jay is a bigger legend.

Lesbianest, most people can't name 5 ice cube songs off the top of their head - and he's put out a ton of big budget material in the modern ages so we can't use the old school excuse.

Naw B you wildin and obviously bias you out yo fukking mind when reasonable doubtcame out nobody was calling that shyt a classic.
:stopitslime:

Reasonable doubt was a huge street album up north.

It certainly is a classic.

comes down to influence.. Cube is arguably #1 or #2 most influential of all time.. without him, there is no Eazy and Dre.. which means no Bone, Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop etc.

Eminem was big on the underground rap circuit and 50 Cent was large in the streets before they joined the NWA tree.

NWA would have happened without ice cube. Not saying they would be as big but they would still have Ren and Doc.

not sure what the year has to be to do with anything. That’s like saying one athlete a bigger legend than another just because they’re more recent

I never liked the fact that jigga warriors looked at Jay as some trendsetter when this guy stayed biting off damn near everybody's rhymes (especially BIG) and then stealing Young Chris style.

That's null & void.

Ice cube is just as much of a biter as jay-z.

Prolly worse.

Cube, Jay been looking funny in the light these last few years. Business partners with snitches, posing as a fake elite business man and not even own shyt. I can go on and on. Cube probably got more money then Jay in real life. Real talk.

Whoa..what's this? No, no, no..Biggie saved the Eastcoast when the Westcoast ruled the world. He blew up in 98 plus and had to share that with DMX.

Especially since Busta, Mase, Wu Tang & Puffy we’re all multi platinum acts from the previous year

Reasonable Doubt was a revised classic...It wasn't popping when it came out.

Depends on the criteria.

Jay is a bigger star with more hits and longevity but Cube changed the game. I don't think Jay was ever a trendsetter like cube was in his prime.

If we're judging based off length of relevancy the Jay is the bigger legend.

If we're judging based off impact then it's Cube easily.

This ^^^

I'm a just be honest I always felt that Jay-Z was over-hyped and I think a lot of that has to do w/Beyonce being his wife. If she doesn't marry him he probably wouldn't have had the opportunities to do the things that he's done and he would probably be an afterthought.
Yeah, because he didn't blow the fukk up prior to hooking up with her.

Why am I even replying? Your username let's me know what time it is :snoop:

You're either a legend or you're not.

And both of these dudes are legends. There is no "bigger' legend. Both of these dudes were pivotal for Hip Hop, in different eras. But have the kind of contributions that shifted the culture and added a few classic projects to the game. Everything else is irrelevant.
