I'm just happy I grew up watching players with personality on and off the court: MJ, Bird, Olajuwon, Kemp, Payton, Mourning, Malone, Barkley, Mason, Rodman, Oak, X-Man, Starks, LJ, NVE, C-Webb, Baron Davis, Danny Ainge, Mutombo, Iverson, KG, Pierce, Kobe, Pippen, McHale...I could go on but you get the idea. Dudes showed emotion on the court and had their own style of play too. now yeah sometimes it feels like you're watching someone working at his desk.

Was just talking about this with coworkers... niccas had signature moves .... there was a noticeable, highly visible distinction ... Nearly every player today seems soooo cookie cutter, on and off the court.

There are still players with personality. Artest, Birdman, Noah, Wall, Dwight Howard, Javelle McGee, Deandre Jordan, Lebron, Chris Paul, KG, Pierce just to name a few. Y'all just making shyt up. The only thing that's missing in this era is the goon type dudes, and that's because Stern has basically eliminated fighting in the league.

the funny thing is these dudes (john wall aint too bad) aint even as stylish as they think they are.

people with real fashion sense laugh at these dudes who just wear flamboyant expensive clothing for the sake of standing out.

Exactly. I subscribe to GQ, And I never see any of those ridiculous looking outfits in there.

I miss personalities like Gary Payton.

This whole generation is swagless as fuk.

It's weird because this generation is stuck on some "swag" shyt. They got it twisted by thinking it's more on the surface than it is a personality thing. They depend on material attachments & money for swag. They think it can be found in a zany outfit.

We live in the era of false confidence.Internally, people see themselves as shytty & worthless. You can't run from that because it deals with the ego identity of self.

I think it makes people overcompensate with a superfluous display of false confidence.

You know the whole "You gotta really be confident to wear a outfit like that" crowd.

Thing is, the females make it worst. They're starting to bite on that empty shyt.We gotta be living in one of the most superficial times in the history of the world

All I see is a guy who didn't have money to the same guy with $80 mil. Who's the real Russy?

You're gonna go from wearing Triple 5 Soul shirts to designer shyt too once you come up on some millz.

:rudy: shut the fukk up you dont know shyt. Anbody who wears that shyt he was wearin in those pictures is corny as fukk i regardless of what it costs. You can get nice, expensive clothes without dressin like a fakkit. You really think if they put him in a room with a bunch of clothes and reversed the price tags that any of these dudes would pick to wear any of this gays ass shyt? fukk no they wouldnt and thats why people think these dudes are corny.

But I guess its hard for a lame to understand what makes somebody a lame so :manny:

Dudes are funny. When cats have outgoing and gregarious personalities they're "cornballs." When they're reserved or chill personalities, they're boring. When they don't give a fukk they're stupid. If a dude does dance or smile too much for your liking, or not take every game like the fate of the known universe lies in the balance, they're a c00n. It's like there's no middle ground. Everything is to the extreme. If Dwight Howard did the same thing Gary Payton did in the locker room tomorrow night y'all would be like:

.

When LeBron and them danced a few years ago at the introductions y'all were probably like:

or

I mean, what the fukk do y'all want? :wtf:

I truly believe as a celebrity or athlete or whatever, you have to put your own happiness ahead of others. People are so mercurial that's there's really no need to try to appease them. If they like you, cool. If they don't, fukk 'em.
This 100%. I would love to go back to the free flowing atmosphere of the 90's, but the way we dog these guys out is insane. We keep them under a microscope.

All manufactured "style" with no substance... Just missing the whole point. It's coming back around though. I'm telling you... It has to...

you can get techs for that now, blame stern.

Like last year when lebron dunked on jason terry, dude got a tech just for staring him down.
