Organization is the key to everything. Press them hard. Affect and disrupt their lives till they comply. These same people that deny your humanity to this day and execute you like animals will not feel empathy towards your cause. I say this as a non American Black. Y'all deserve this and should build a case for it as has been done in the past.
They often derail the idea when it is raised for a reason. I think a lot of people are now starting to see that there has to be an organized community approach to solving various issues as opposed to trying to reason with the Devil.
Easy, reparations as a concept to be paid by the oppressor to the oppressed didn't exist until the concept of "genocide," was fully formed. Decades after the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
The concept has since been given more validity.
African Americans aren't the only ones looking for reparations from genocide, the Armenians have been putting in effort since their genocide at the hands of the Turks, and its been a no-go.
The Germans also didn't pay the Jews, Romani, or Black people reparations for the Holocaust.
The Khmer Rouge never paid reparations to the Cambodians (though they killed off 25% of the Cambodians, so it wasn't financially possible).
No Hutu reparations were paid to the Tutsi after the Rwandan Genocide.
No French reparations to the Haitians.
I think you get the idea.

Threads about anything other than jordans, p*ssy, weed, and video games quickly fall to the bottom. But yeah we are fukked as a collective. Done. Too many nikkas are stuck in a child like state, I don't even care who gets mad at me for saying this. The only time we come together is when one of us is murdered and even then the next day we go back to obsessing over athletes and the hoes they fukk, rap beefs, Love & Hip Hop, sneakers/clothes, etc...easily distracted. No coming together to discuss economics, building, etc. Even the higher-earning black men are stuck in a child like/teenage mentality, they're just as obsessed over toys (clothes, shoes, hoes, whips, clubbing, video games) as the hood nikkas are. They aren't serious about shyt either. Trust me, I know. A very small amount are serious, but definitely not the majority. They always have money for toys, but never for building something for black ppl.
nikkas can spend hours "discussing" athletes careers, rappers/publicity stunts, Jordans, thots, award shows, video games, weed, etc in the barbershop, on twitter, etc but won't spend 5 minutes discussing anything more "serious" like black empowerment, economics, etc.
I still do my part and always will, I build, i help and I support other black ppl who want better for our race. But I realized that the nikkas who like being dependent on white men have to be left behind, there's no saving them, no amount of explaining to them will change their mentality, it's a waste of time to try to get them to take stuff seriously. It's because they don't REALLY want black ownership, they don't want black wealth, they love the current status quo and are actually against changing it, that's why they always deflect, make excuses, and never want to even discuss let alone create anything that will be beneficial for us as a group. They're like cacs except with brown skin. They love white supremacy, even though they'd never admit it.

The best time to try to get reparations wouldve actually been the Civil Rights Movement, but they were just satisfied with being able to go to the white man's schools, work in the white man's factories, eat in the white man's restaurants, and being able to fukk white women. As long as they had access to the white man's shyt, they were "good". That was their idea of equality. Like Malcolm said, that's not equality. Equality would be having OUR own shyt, like THEY have their own. Black ownership IS equality. Because how things are right now is NOT "equal". Don't let the house nikkas try to tell you shyt is equal just because we can go to the white man's institutions and work in their businesses.
