You have no idea if they're watching Em interviews or not. Let's stick to the facts here. Eminem has went out of his way to tell people his lyrics are bullshyt. Whether or not people "see the interviews" has nothing to do with anything. The interviews exist.
And whether he does or not, doesn't change the influence he has over individuals. That is the real issue with the lyrics, not because Rick Ross said he raped a woman but rather that someone may want to live out the lyrics.
So again, just because Eminem said in Interviews people haven't seen (including myself who is a hip hop fan) doesn't mean the lyrics don't influence people.
ticks to the script. So that costs him a Reebok endorsement.
Finally yeah, a double standard exists. It's the fact that people want to hold 2 rappers to the same standard, despite the fact that only one of them wants to be taken seriously.
Fred.
Whether he wants to be taken seriously or not, which you are wrong because clearly wants to be known as a legend, doesn't change the fact of why people are upset with these kinds of lyrics. Eminem wanting to hurt his wife and hates his mom is a THEME in his music. Not a one off line. That is why you can't continue to let him hide behind context or anything.
There is a double standard for him. He can make songs about murder and rape while people argue for 'context' and him playing a 'character' but Rick Ross can't. YOU know hes playing a character but you still want to pretend like because Eminem said in some obscure interview hardly anyone saw its different. It's not. You are proving the double standard right now. You are making excuses for one that clearly can apply for another.
