Ross losing his sponsorship isn't about if being a different time, or the different perspectives the songs were written in. Its about one artist being a representative of a corporate sponsor and the other, not. The major difference here is that Rick Ross had endorsements, he is the face of a major corporation, he is supposed to act a certain way.

Eminem had no endorsements at the time, he was just doing him and he could give a fukk less.

Em got picketed and had people going at his head, but he was just in it for the music, so it didn't affect his career as a musician, just as this hasn't affected Ross' career as a musician, only his career as a spokesperson.

No, his sales reflect who is interested enough to PURCHASE his album. You don't need to purchase a rappers album to know who he is. You also don't need to purchase his album to like songs he makes. I've never bought a Rick Ross record and neither has my 50 year old WHITE uncle but we both know who Rick Ross is, see how that works?
