I think the earlier comparison someone made of channel orange to blonde applies here. If you looking for traditional soul/R&B like asatt you will be sorely disappointed. But if you take it for what it is(a concept album paying homage to h-town) it’s very good. Production is phenomenal on this

I feel like people criticizing this for it not being an album she didn’t intend to make. It doesn’t hit as hard as her earlier work but there’s some great songs like Slow Flo, Ameda, and My Skin My Logo and taken for what it is, it’s a solid late night, zone out album.
