Someone's GOAT (NOT MINE) got whooped in a first round series after getting gifted a top 5 player in the league

Is Bron getting another ring as a 1st or 2nd option?

l Kobe was never considered one of the best defensive players in the league.

ARE U RETARDED? KOBE HAS FINISHED TOP 5 IN DPOY MULTIPLE TIMES AND RECEIVED FIRST PLACE VOTES AS WELL

LEBRON HAS NEVER EVER EVERR BEEN A LOCKDOWN MAN DEFENDER ALA KOBE

HE WAS A GOOD WEAKSIDE DEFENDER AND PLAYED GOOD TEAM DEFENSE IN HIS PRIME

BUT THATS IT

SIT YO AZZ DOWN GLORIA

Neither did Bron? Lmao.. your own narratives don’t even make sense

Kobe needed it his first 3 chips cause he was a #2 and even then fuked up cause he should have 6

Having an elite teammate takes attention away for Kobe, and he still shot like Julius Randle in NY. Bron was the sole focus in 2007… they aren’t the same

KOBE WAS THE SOLE FOCUS IN 2004

KOBE WAS THE SOLE FOCUS IN 2004
Our game plan was very calculated. We knew we were going to play Shaq straight-up. We knew there was no way we could stop Shaq straight-up. And there was also no way we could stop Kobe straight-up. But, if we’re going to play Shaq straight-up, [the Lakers'] eyes are going to get big, which means they’re going to keep throwing it down there. We’re telling Ben the whole time, "Take fouls when you need to, but don’t get yourself into foul trouble. You need to give up a layup, cool, we’re going to get what we want on the other side." But what’s going to happen is Mr. Bryant is going to get a little discouraged with getting no touches and now the second half comes around…now he’s pressing. He’s going to start coming down and just breaking the offense. When you do that, you’re done—you’re playing right into our hands. Even if you start making those shots, you’re finished.

Kobe broke the offense. Imagine trying to make it sound like a good thing Kobe was considered the weakness of the team :laff:

THATS BECAUSE SUNS WERE MORE SUCCESSFUL AS A TEAM

KOBE N SHAQ WERE ON THE SAME TEAM FOO

:skip:
Yeah and Shaq shot 58% from the field and Kobe shot 43% and only averaged 2.5 more points :russ:

Let me help you. Kobe 24 points per game on 18 shots

Shaq 21.5 points per game on 14 shots

Shaq also was only 40% from the line and averaged 10 free throws a game. So really his average was only lower because he sucked at free throws

Shaq also also averaged 12 rebounds a game and nearly 3 blocks

Kobe had the hype machine behind him until he took the detour to Colorado. And was arguably the worst year of his career relative to his age.

You don't know shyt about basketball :mjlol:

this is such a strawman argument.

Another strawman argument. Any MVP candidate can jump from franchise to franchise and ruin parity by playing with the best competition. Obviously the achievements are all cheap and not earned without tipping the scale. It's easy to achieve when you game the system as we saw with Durant who hasn't done shyt without the warriors. Cheap rings. It was just funny that Durant beat Lebron at his own game and got two final MVPs on his dome :damn:

The one time Bean and Lebron were supposed to meet in the finals Bron got packed up Dwight. Kobe got Finals MVP that season :mjpls: I wish Lebron and Bean played in that finals Kobe would have swept his ass and you know it :russ:

As @Sccit and other have shown Kobe was not a sidekick. Shaq and his dynamic was 1A 1B. We never beat the Spurs without bean. Kobe was actually better to the point where Phil told him to dial back at times with his scoring outburst to prevent Shaq from having a toddler tantrum :mjlol. Kobe won two more without shaq which proves that Kobe was always better. Nobody is arguing who had the better career between the two of them anymore. You have such a 2004 argument :mjlol: . You are making a false equivalence between literally cheating the parity system and winning cheap rings along with cheap accolades. Bringing up Shaq is such a deflection :mjlol:

Plus LeBron had the benefit of playing in the east. He had east coast media bias. Compeition was already weaker in the east those days.

You aren't really arguing anything btw. Your argument is basically "lol Kobe not good defender he got those awards based on reputation". HE was one of the best guard defenders EVER. He earned everything the right way too :mjpls: Not cheap and easy like your boy :umad:
More casual drivel :unimpressed:
Lebron won double the amount of MVPS as Kobe back when he was playing with Boobie Gibson :mjlol:Yeah, 35 year old Lebron's FMVP with Kyle fukking Kuzma as his 3rd option was because he was on a superteam. Or what about 2016 against a 73-9 team with the Cavs third best player injured. The scales were tipped huh? :skip:

Kobe should have won :dahell: He was in his prime playing with a HOF teammate and great role players. Lebron was in his early 20s hooping with Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao. Funny enough, Lebron has taken teams without any HOFers to the finals, Kobe has never even won a playoff series without a HOF teammate.

Anybody that argues that Kobe was better than Shaq during the 3peat is not to be taken seriously:
First place MVP Votes, 2000-2002:
Shaq: 144
Kobe: 1

1st team all-NBA appearances between 2000-2002:
Shaq: 3
Kobe: 1

FMVPS between 2000-2002:
Shaq: 3
Kobe: 0

MVPs between 2000-2002:
Shaq: 1
Kobe: 0

Kobe's record without Shaq: 23-25
Shaq's record without Kobe: 31-10
Kobe won a ring averaging 23 less PPG than Shaq in the finals :skip: That's the very definition of a sidekick ring. Jamal Murray would be damned.

It’s really not complicated: guards face less competition for All-Defensive spots than forwards or centers, so being one of the top guard defenders doesn’t automatically mean you were more impactful. Kobe has more All-Defensive nods than Duncan or Artest, but no one genuinely thinks he was a better defender than either. DPOY voting provides a more accurate measure of impact because it's an award that spans all positions. Kobe was never a serious contender for the award. LeBron, on the other hand, has been.
