Do you KNOW the military's history in Turkey?
What definition of democracy do you have? What the fukk is democratic about overthrowing an elected leader to be replaced by a military junta?
And when does banning scarves = democracy?
If they take over ISIS gonna be pissed. Some info on Fethullah Gülen:
Gülen teaches a Hanafi version of Islam, deriving from Sunni Muslim scholar Said Nursî's teachings. Gülen has stated that he believes in science, interfaith dialogue among the People of the Book, and multi-party democracy. He has initiated such dialogue with the Vatican and some Jewish organizations.
Gülen is actively involved in the societal debate concerning the future of the Turkish state, and Islam in the modern world. He has been described in the English-language media as an imam "who promotes a tolerant Islam which emphasises altruism, hard work and education" and as "one of the world's most important Muslim figures."

Anybody actually have any insight as to why the military would attempt a coup?

So you gonna tell me that Erdogan didn't want to strike Kurdish people with force if they would act out? Or that he didn't wanted to ban all pig related export in Turkey? He is to emotional and wanted to have Islam to play a pivotal role in Turkey. How is forcing ones religion any better then letting you choose what you want?

If the early reports are true, in the simplest of terms, it means the Turkish state has failed.i don't know what none of this shyt means..![]()
So what's hard about killing a few troops and ending this shyt? Here's what one of my Turkish peeps said - his English isn't 100%, but you get the gist.
"This event is an attempt by a group of Turkish soldiers. İt is not a totally military coup! a crypto group is attempting to take over the country, but it will not be successful because Turkish people will stay on the side of democracy!"
