What am I reaching for lol ? Do you know what my point is?

Anyway.. doesn't really matter as this is basically a random thoughts thread. My point is probably lost between the pics.

it just doesn't make much sense, so someone who wishes they weren't black is gonna grow an afro, something that'll make em stand out and draw attention to their blackness?

Ah, I see where the confusion is.

Some people think that they are special snowflakes. They know that they are black but they're not like "those other black people". They always complaining about how other black people are thugs and hoes. They are usually engrossed in another culture, Japanese for example.

Like I said to someone else, a lot of white people think that afros are cool and fascinating. I've had plenty of white people tell me, " if I was black I'd grow a fro" or " You should wear an afro."

Plus, it's just something that happens when you want to grow out your hair, and while some black men do perm their hair, if your broke or lazy and don't want to spend money getting your hair don't and don't know how to cut your own hair, you get a fro. It's the simplest, cheapest thing to do.

I have a fro.

Had it since I was a kid. Also, a lot of the stuff you see is weird fade styles and overgrown faux hawks.

Don't ave anything to really say about the style. Just my preferred style.

Also, fukking barbers need to expand their repertoire to be able to properly trim and shape up an afro style.
I notice younger barbers have issues with this, my barber is almost 50 and does a good job at this.

Does anybody understand wtf OP is saying? How can any type of Afro be considered "c00nnish ?
Afro =/= c00n; this is what some people are getting from my post.

What I'm saying: I've noticed
a lot of "token black guys" (guys who hang out with majority white or non-black people) wear afros.

I found it interesting because afros are/were a symbol of Black pride. But it's also just a hair texture so not everyone rocking a fro is gonna be pro-black or militant or immersed in black culture.
