Sonic 1,2,3 and Sonic & Knucles go toe to toe with Mario 3 and Super Mario World IMO

None of the Mario games gave me a better feeling than going all super saiyan when you become Super Sonic

Sonic is cool. Sonic 2 is in my top games of all time classics list. But Mario 1 2 and 3 plus lost levels are too good, even world and a personal fave Yoshi"s Island. To enter Mario 64 into a discussion, the music alone is worlds beyond anything Sega has done. But props to Sonic and Sega. But to compare the two is almost unfair

First half of this post doesn't fit the discussion imo. Can't bring a rpg, fighting game and racing game to a 2d platformer conversation.
Other than that I'ma have to disagree heavy with any mention of Mario music compared to Sonic. If there's one place where Sonic wins without any argument...it's the music.
Your right. Except it isn't t far of a stretch I liked sonic 3d blast, they couldve rpg'd that or considered doing some type of rpg at that stage of the game. And some sonic songs are dope but sonic 2 is like their peak. The original mario bros theme is up there with notoriety like bugs bunny and mickey mouse, everyone knows it. Mario 1's og music is up there with the best of the best in terms of music with all of sonic. And sonic 2 hs some classics, but that's where it stops. Marios 64? To be honest there's hardly any game soundtracks in the history of games and soundtracks that's fukkin with that. But this is apples and oranges because mario 64 is once again a soundtrack whereas sonic and og marios are just musi if you understand what I mean.
Only thing that was better in Sonic was the music. Other than that Mario had them beat.
The best parts of Sonic was doing shyt you werent supposed to, like going into the debug menu and giving yourself super sonic mode on every level, using Knuckles to fly over half the level, etc... The level design in Mario 3 and World are just superb.

now where its gets muddy is calling sonic 2 better than smb 3....sonic 2 is dope as hell, but the levels on mario 3, water, snow, fire, desert, plant, fukk...cloud..what am missing? the tanooki suit, the mini games (memory, match-up) the mini bosses, the castles...actual 2 player mode...you get more bang for your buck when its down on paper. that isnt to say that sonic 2 is fun as hell. i wouldnt let someone sit there and say it aint fun, in fact i'll straight up say it aint better than smb 3 but just because its not better doesnt means its worse, like i said more bang for your buck with smb3
