No it's not.

When would be too late in your opinion? Launch day, or sometime before?

Does them getting it together so late influence your purchase decision?
When they have a working model for me to purchase, I will purchase it. fukk all the fanboy shyt. Re-read what I said in my initial post. If they have to delay it then at least they're taking the time to get it right. It's just like any other piece of consumer electronics.

When Apple delayed releasing the first white iPhone 4 for nearly a year due to technical issues with the casing, did that sway people from ever getting a white iPhone when it finally dropped? Why should this be any different?
It does not influence their decision. If the situation was reversed and Sony was the showing real functioning hardware at gamescom and Ms didn't they would have a field day saying this proves MS is having manufacturing problems etc.
I can only speak for myself. I'm wholly uninterested in MS. Why you're begging for it's fair treatment is beyond me, though. Who the fukk cares what other people say? Buy what you want.

I'm buying both right at launch, the problem is that you are making threads about nothing. Sony has shown enough

neither console is finished and Sony has convinced the majority that their console is the one to buy.

The Xbox 1 is finished and has allowed the public hands on time. The ps4 is/has not.

Does this have any impact on your purchase decision, or are you fully confident in Sony being able to pull it together for launch?

Sony has put it together 3 out of 3 times. They have gained that trust from the public whether you agree with their buying decisions or not.

Microsoft has delivered...ONCE with gaming consoles. I almost wish the old forum was up so I can up old ass threads in where I was telling people that Microsoft better know what they are getting themselves into with the 360 hardware. Turns out...I was RIGHT (as usual) and they fukked up the initial iterations because they seemingly can't seem to take notes from another company before them.

You say "fukk all the fanboy shyt"

Then you go on saying how you are gonna buy a ps4 regardless of what happens. Sorry to break it to you but that's the definition of "fanboy shyt"

I was simply trying to get a concensus on how people felt leading up to the launch. It seems like we should know more about these consoles, the ps4 in particular, just two months out from launch. If you don't want to participate in the conversation then you don't have to.

Nintendo has had plenty of successes. Yet people who preordered a wii u are hurting right now. Judging from history is not making an informed purchase decision.

nd also Sony has a history of not following through on "promises" so if you are in fact making. Your decision based on history, I would think some skepticism would be reasonable.

The people who pre-ordered the Wii U are morons. Quite possibly many of those who bought the wii immediately and thought it would be a similar hit.

Most knowledgeable gamers don't own a Wii U yet. If you are somehow implying that this could be the same thing...just stop. Sony has been kicking Nintendo's ass since December 3rd, 1994

No I'm not saying the ps4 could be a wii u situation. I'm saying buying a product based on the past could be a bad idea.

And Sony has not kicked any asses since the ps2 era.

You're being silly. Me having made a decision with the information presented to me thus far doesn't make me a fanboy. I also didn't say I'd buy a PS4 "regardless of what happens."

Obviously, and I didn't think this needed to be said, but apparently it does: If there are GLARING, insurmountable, dealbreaking issues with the console, I'm not going to buy it. Sony's built enough brand capital and trust that I highly doubt this will be the case. You're being obtuse and you created a thread that is pretty pointless at this stage in the game.

There really is no conversation to be had, but I'll stick around for the fukkery.

That's the point of the thread. We've all made a decision based on the information presented. But at what point do you expect that information to turn into real demonstrable, tangible evidence?

Nintendo has had a shytty rep in terms of support since 1996

As far as kicking ass? Sony's catalog says otherwise :win:

Have not heard any concerns of shytty support from Nintendo. They've made some questionable decisions but their hardware seems to be the most reliable.

Your second point is simply your opinion.

Yeah discussion over. Nintendo's lack of 3rd party support is WELL documented and are suffering now as a result of it in the console side of things. Their struggles to get support became evident with the N64. This is just gaming history...something you clearly don't know much about.

Second point being opinion? Sure, but its the popular one :win:

That's not shyty support from Nintendo. That's shytty support from everyone else. They didn't get that support due to questionable decisions.

But they still have found much success. And fans purchased the wii u due to that success. Problem is that prior success has not transferred into current success. Which is the point I was making. You shouldn't make purchase decisions based on what a company did last time.
