We're pretending BC doesn't matter when it was one of the main bragging points for PS3. And if backwards compatibility doesn't matter then why does PS NOW matter? This stuff doesn't matter to me because I still have all my old systems and my old games. I'm just giving respect where respect is due. Updating the Xbox one to give it the ability to be BC was a great move. If you can't admit that cool, but it's the reality. PS has sold way more than Xbox worldwide but they aren't willing to do the work and make the system BC at all. They've had the excuse before. "People don't understand how hard it would be." Hence, it isn't impossible, they just don't feel like devoting the time to it even though they clearly have the money. If PS4 had this feature Sony stans would be cramming it down the XBOTS throats. Just keep it g and say, good move MS, I still prefer my ps4, but good move.
NO, BC does not matter to me. It's an online bragging point. How many people really useed it?? Like very few. PS Now is better because I can choose from a GANG of games and play it anywhere on anything(later.)

I will never give M$ any props. Fukk them. Instead of BC compatability, why couldn't they add Xbox 1 BC?? I want to play Jet Set fukking radio future. The day they treat their lost fans with Conker, Banjo and Jet Set Radio Future, they won't get a dime out of me.

There's some pros to this for sure, but it's also not as big as some of ya'll making it out to be for some good reasons. For one, most of the top games that were worth playing last gen, have HD remakes dropped already or dropping soon, so if you really about playing old games and IF you don't already own them, this would be the better buy. Another reason why this move isn't too huge is the timing of it. If it was announced at last year's E3, might've been pretty big. We're near 2 full years into current gen now, so older games aren't going to be fawned over as much anyway, cuz truth be told, most cats hang onto their previous gen library or play them rather, during the dawn period of next gen consoles, not right into their stride 2-3 years later. The bigger guns have started to drop and/or on the verge of dropping, which most gamers are going to want to play them over some years old last gen titles, regardless if it makes these games look or play a lil bit better.

The last point on this, is gonna sound a bit biased for sure, and is a bit subjective, but another reason why the B/C was greatly lauded over last gen on PS3 was cuz the B/C was for the PS2's games, which was a far more diverse library for sure and that's cut anyway you wanna look at it, exclusive wise, sheer quantity of numbers or quality of greatness and it was available at day 1, which all of these B/C features should have been honestly, due to my first two points above.

I definitely think this is better than PSNow overall tho, as sheer principle of it being free and at least moderately capable with physical games that are already owned. This is mostly undeniable, though @fatboi does have a good point about PSNow being available on a variety of platforms and able to be played anywhere. You do have to pay for it though and the price, while not too bad, is still not that great either.

As someone else stated earlier in this thread, it's definitely commendable of them and perhaps one of the best things M$ has done for its fans so far and I'm sure is at least appreciable from 360 owners/Xbox fans. In order for Sony to compete with it, they'd have to make PSNow at least a part of the package of PSN+. Otherwise, it's definitely a greater selling point for M$ overall, though the reasons mentioned earlier, I don't think it'll be a heavy blow tho honestly.

Agree with everything here except the bold This is unequivocally the biggest PR spin they've done since cutting the kinect's cords. shyt is disgusting. Hyping them up and then dropping a half assed feature that's missing games. PS3 BC was deep at launch hour. Fukk outta here.

Psnow is unique in the fact I don't have to own a system to play games. So if I own a tv or phone dats compatible I can play a crapload of games for a subscription or I can rent games. Psnow is not a service for me so to say. But if I do see a game I want to play I could just rent it. And that's cool as hell.

The BC thing was huge with PS3 because the PS2 had the greatest gaming library in history. Fast forward to 2015 and nobody cares because next gen and all that. I don't know anybody that was begging for Xbox games to be payable on Xbox 360.

The only reason the FF7 remake is big is because gamers been crying for it for decades now. I agree this is a good thing for Xbox games though. Especially if it will be 100% free.

Yeah you can rent it for more than it would cost to just buy it.

You guys gotta come up with better arguments cause all I see is "nobody wants to play THOSE (360) Games for free. Everyone wants to PAY to RENT these (PS) games. (You understand that? You are paying $20 a month to RENT something. Half of those games which can be bought at gamestop or online for less than $20.) And I can play them anywhere too." So tell me, you guys are actually paying $20 a month for ps now, and whatever the cost of ps+ and I'm assuming you all have that garbage psvita (that sees no support what so ever )huh. Because from what I've seen in the Arcadium, no one is ever talking about the vita and vita game threads get NO attention at all. It ain't that hard. Everyone CLEARLY appreciates the ability to play old gen games on current gen consoles. the blind stannery is lame. I like PS4 better, but Xbox was smart with this move and I applaud them for it.
