I mean I am cool with this if this allows us to access ps3 games we purchased on the ps4 for free. I mean they paid all that money to acquire gakai, it only makes since to get some use out of it. No backwards compatibility is not a deal breaker for me, I mean I will still have my ps3. Online play is big for most games but from what I have read even if the ps4 is backwards compatible, there is no way for those accessing the game on ps4 to play with those playing it on the ps3, so backwards compatibility is not all that much to me.

when is the last time you seriously played a PS2 game? i don't know about you but i have more than one TV and i have different things hooked up to different TVs. my PS3 and 360 will be moved to the living room from the bedroom when they get replaced. i got like 4 HDMI ports on one TV, 3 on the other and 3 on one of my soundbars. i don't have 10 HDMI ports worth of shyt.
Electronics die fairly easy... so its always good to preserve them. Also you're forgetting several people have bought several hundreds dollars worth of DD only games as well.
See post above. My ps2 Slim died, same with my saturn thankfully we finally got a saturn emulator to work after 15 YEARS. This is another "always online" situation.

I played Victorious Boxers 2 the Japanese version on my PC as my PC is powerful enough to run them a well. My PS3 is the OG 2006 fat boy as well. I still have PS2 games.
My Wii U that will eventually be bought would be on the television. The PS3/PS4, Xbox 360 and perhaps the next Xbox as well, pending their backwards compatibility shyt. This is in addition to my gaming PC. My gaming PC has Wii, Gamecube, PS2 and Dreamcast games on it as well as the piff from Steam.

backwards compatibility on a console isn't really needed and its unprofitable for them to do. the moment they figured out they could resell old games in HD collections backwards compatibility died.
see but its different because digital content. its only right to deliver the digital shyt, at the very least, that people have already paid for. thats one of the biggest selling points of DD - it follows you...even nintendo did that
