Your netflix comparison doesn't even make sense. People subscribe to Netflix because it's a service that benefits THEM, not because it'll make struggling actors/actresses more money. You can't say that for Tidal.

Your average person does not give a fukk how much struggling/indie artists are making nor should they. People have their own lives/problems to worry about. Show/Tell people how the service benefits THEM, and they will sign up. But telling people how much other people benefit from their coins is not how you get people to purchase your shyt. Is this a business or a charity?
Tidal benefits ME because it provides lossless music whereas no other streaming site does. It also provides exclusive content, just like netflix and it's adding more constantly. The fact that it helps support my favorite artists is a bonus. Netflix does support indie filmmakers and helps keep struggling tv shows on the air by picking up part of their budgets. I know people that are subscribed to netflix for those reasons alone otherwise they'd just hit up thepiratebay or whatever.

The exception is not the rule.. just because "you know someone" doesn't make it the majority or significant enough to matter.

In 2015 nothing is exclusive. Especially when most of the "exclusives" end up on spotify within the next week and youtube within the hour. It wasn't even a full week before Rhianna's new "tidal exclusive" track was on spotify.

And most people don't care about lossless music, not enough to pay every month for it.

People that do find benefit in Tidal's service will buy it. People that don't will not. Trying to guilt trip those that don't see benefit into buying it anyway.. :camby:

So you've never bought something to support someone? You're that selfish? I hope you never complain about the state of hiphop because you don't have much of a right to. I hope you get to talk to one of your favorite rappers one day and ask about much money they really make or how much an album really costs to make and then tell them why you deserve it for free.

I agree he should put more Indie artists up front but he was using celebrity endorsement to grab attention. But the profit sharing is all the same. Freddie Gibbs gets just as much from his music as Kanye does on there.

The state of hip hop is dependent on my subscription to Tidal, now? LMAO.
I actually buy albums. I buy them because I find VALUE, WORTH, and USE for them. I don't see any in Tidal, thus I wont support.
I guess buying albums instead of Tidal makes me selfish and complicit in the decline of an entire genre. What will you Tidal stans come up with next? :mjlol:

As for your first question, again, is this a business or a charity? If your business plan is simply based on people just buying to "support you" as opposed to the benefit it provides to them, you're not going to be in business very long.

all this emotion over a product you don't want :dahell:
exactly these clowns are getting paid to hate. thats the only reason i can think of. unless they are white or just some self hating black folks that still doesnt understand the difference between chess and checkers.

idiots dont sign up for tidal if you dont like it or think its to expensive. but what you should nt do is cry about it every other moment you get.

You keep saying they're asking for too much. How so? oh because spotify and these others made the price first.

let me ask you a question, why dont you tell Nike they are charging to much for their shoes? You do realize it costs less then $20 to make a pair right? but i bet if Jay came out with the very same shoes, their would complaining about price. pathetic.

Well that's what the music business is now because everybody damn sure knows how to get it for free. So if you choose to buy music then you're choosing to support. If you actually buy albums then that's dope and props to you. I don't have space or need for cd's anymore so thousands of lossless albums on Tidal works for me.

You find no use for CDs (you can buy albums without buying physical CD's) and that's your right, and by that same token why can't you understand that some (obviously the VAST majority of) people don't find any use for Tidal? No need to lay the guilt trip on them.

I only have issue with people on some "fukk artists they dont deserve my money they're all rich anyway" bullshyt. Some nikkas really poor their blood and sweat into making hiphop and get almost no thanks for it. People feel entitled to music and wanna start smear campaigns over trivial amounts of money. I'm cool with some artists and I get sick of people putting no value on their hard work. Anyway, I'm done with this thread, I hope you keep supporting your favorite rappers out of respect and not guilt. Peace
