At the end of the day its just a t-shirt which wields no power. Stick and stones break bones and not words. Cacs respect blood. More chin checking is needed

@EastCoastNaga

For example look how strong Russian influence is in Syria and how it keeps the West at bay...

What happens in the Eastern Congo has tremendous effects on the other part of the country. It was Hutu refugees in the Eastern Congo which started off the first Rwandan invasion.

Rwanda wants to be like Israel. I admire their infiltration strategies/tactics that they used to conquer the Congo. Other than that, their regime is pretty bad. I recommend reading Gerard Prunier's account of the Central African Conflict.

Yeah I heard about Hutus crossing into the Eastern Congo. Those same Hutus being the ones who committed the genocide. I'll have to look into that.

That's what it seems like more and more.

Which is why complaining about the Chinese not "liking us" is silly.

NO. Just the fake that you're not clearly reading what I post.

Why the heck would China in this situation oppress their business partner/allies????? That's like the USA oppressing South Korea and Japan.:what:

I understand clearly what you said breh. What I'm asking is why are you against Africans setting up a base in China AFTER the infrastructure gets built and the economy grows? If they are allies, surely this wouldn't be a problem right?

And "allies" oppress people all the time. Hell the Portuguese were allies with many in West Africa and look how that turned out...

Just like UK, France and Germany can set up bases in the USA. I mean they are allies... :rolleyes:

As for the Portuguese, did they ever develop African infrastructure like the Chinese are doing? No.

I wonder why :mjpls::pachaha:

But yes, I just want it to be fair for Africa is all.

Only time will tell how this will turn out.

What can I (or any others lurking) do as an AA to help African countries?

Ethiopia and Djibouti are playing chess, not checkers like Nigeria or South Africa.

Sure, Nigeria dreams of having a network of gas pipelines across West and Central Africa, but good luck without electricity. Sure, South Africa wants to get power from Congo's Inga Dams but that's thousands of miles away and they'll have to rely on Russian nuclear fuel in the mean time.

Ethiopia is cementing itself as a hydraulic/electric power in the Horn. Also, as the chief military power with a burgeoning agricultural and manufacturing sector. If they can slow down population growth to three kids per woman they'll be fine. Djibouti will be Ethiopia's access to the sea. Also by hosting navies, they will secure their independence. They probably also expect to feast off of Ethiopia's hydroelectricity
:blessed:
Damn, Nigeria really playing checkers right now?:sadcam:

Any signs of that changing?

No. The bourgeoisie are now speaking of agriculture and solid minerals to export without considering how to make solid value chains.

There's a new campaign to encourage domestic consumption but it's a scheme to really limit forex from being spent. It also risks encouraging corrupt public private collusion.

For example, there's a car manufacturer in Nigeria named Innoson. The Nigerian National Assembly had been under fire for spending millions on foreign cars PER YEAR! They are using the #BuyNaijaToGrowNaira campaign to buy those cars and still spend millions.

This can hurt Innoson in two ways:
A) Encourages a patronage position which doesn't spur innovation so their cars will remain geared toward the domestic market only. Super bad.
B) Will hurt Nigerian consumers because they can now easy create a govt supported monopoly.
