that twist was the best part of the movie. the scene when dude comes out and tells what happened. Dude is trying to continue his BS sermon even after it. Then the cross in his eyes as he looks up. It was a powerful scene. But for whatever reason Spike felt the need to show the actual molestation taking place

Went in with significantly lowered expectations because of the bad reviews and ended up liking it quite a bit. The biggest flaw is the child actors are fukkin terrible. Especially the girl.

old-timer? thats the preacher. And that was good. There were some really moving scenes in it but its surrounded by crap

I actually liked her more than the the dude who showed no emotion at all.


Also, Spike tried to put EVERY thought he has into this movie. It was over the top at times. Gentrification, Black people not investing in wall street, black youth, religion, etc. It was just too much at times, although the movie was entertaining.

Wasn't feeling the movie until the twist happened. Movie got a lot better after that.

Peters and Nate Parker were great, but the kids were awful, especially the girl. I'd probably give the film a slight recommendation. 6/10
