No and im speaking from experience. If you have to get a job, that gap in employment DOES hold a lot of weight. People underestimate that unemployment gap in their resume. employers usually want to know why you werent working. Theyre gonna ask for your job references. Obviously, if you have bills to pay, you cant afford to do that shyt. Better have a safety net but broke people cant be choosey when it comes to work. You take what you can get until you find something better or doing your own thing.

And its going to become a brutal wake up call that eventually theyre going to phase people out of positions for automation so people are going to have to become their own employers and make their own jobs whether they have to get a trade or be creative to get money. The government isnt giving them any help either.

Hopefully those people had foresight to increase their skillset. But a lot of times finding a better job than walmart is as easy as looking for one.

Like you could be a security guard, bank teller or work in the airport. No significant change to your skillset needed but better than unliveable wages.

So a lot of the places that are having labor issues (retail, fast food, restaurants, etc) don't care about gaps in resumes. They aren't even looking at resumes, they just need a body. Remember, this is low skilled work, they aren't going through a whole process that you would do for an office job.

A whole lot of people got a wakeup call about their worth as employees is what's happening. You want me to wait tables? fukk you pay me. You want me to shingle roofs? fukk you pay me. And if you won't that company across the street will. I'm hearing this story from tons of my friends in different industries.

We've seen how the last 40 years of trickle down economics has worked for the working man/woman. Time for a change.

$15 is about equivalent to $7.25 with the cost of living in Cali.
