You do realize that they might be actually manfacturing this labor shortage crisis as a reason to bring in automated jobs or phase out certain low skilled jobs do they dont have to pay 15 dollars in a lot of places? Create a crisis to solve a crisis. They basically saying that yall dont want to work so lets use robots for workers and make you shop online instead.

If that were true, it would require massive investment on the companies part - again, the jobs that are having these issues the most are fast food, retail, and restaurants. These jobs aren't easily automated. Fast food places are heavily franchised, many restaurants are privately owned. Based on the nature of the job you can't just have a robot replace a worker. The tech isn't there yet. Even if you could, there is the political aspect of it - people don't want robots serving them their food.

Another thing is, ppl are beginning to realize, their TIME is a form of currency/wealth. fukk the money. Peace of mind is better, IMO.

The goal of these jobs, is to keep you working, and enslaved, while they reap all the rewards, draining you of your livelihood. You're either hypnotized with work 24/7, or always on a clock (even when YOU'RE NOT WORKING). You don't have time for your own aspirations, or dreams, if you're always working, or too tired to accomplish anything. Why are ppl working 40 hrs a week, and struggling, or not getting anywhere? OT was meant as an opportunity, to put a few extra dollars in your pocket. Why are ppl having to work OT, just to survive, or see a decent check? :scust:

Why are 40+ hours the new norm? Why are you around strangers, and coworkers, more than you're around your own fukkin family?
The 40 hr workweek is outdated period, IMO. I'm glad ppl are beginning to wake up, and hold these corporations, feet to the fire. Otherwise, shyt will never change.

Gone, are the generations before us, who would break their back, for 30+ years, save up a little money, only to retire, and have a heart attack two weeks later. fukk that shyt. :camby:

I'd rather be poorer and struggle, then work 60+ hrs a week and be miserable, somewhere. Money isn't everything.

:gucci: Since when did corporations need an excuse to reduce headcount? The been sending jobs overseas for over 30 years with very little pushback from the powers that be. Increased automation wouldn’t be any different.

No and im speaking from experience. If you have to get a job, that gap in employment DOES hold a lot of weight. People underestimate that unemployment gap in their resume. employers usually want to know why you werent working. Theyre gonna ask for your job references. Obviously, if you have bills to pay, you cant afford to do that shyt. Better have a safety net but broke people cant be choosey when it comes to work. You take what you can get until you find something better or doing your own thing.

And its going to become a brutal wake up call that eventually theyre going to phase people out of positions for automation so people are going to have to become their own employers and make their own jobs whether they have to get a trade or be creative to get money. The government isnt giving them any help either.

Have you ever worked a crap job before? You know employers laugh at them joints right? You don't want to do it for too long... That's a stop gap job. Also a career killer. I've been there those jobs are a waste.

Trust me I speak from experience.

Employers getting that ether they usually serve to employees. I feel no pain for them. They do people dirty everyday.

They were paying most people more not to work than to actually work for the past year at least. Things might change now that some of the states cut back on the extra unemployment but lot of people found other jobs or started doing their own thing. They felt it was better to do things on their own time than having to rely on a company to provide them with time in exchange for the rights to mistreat, overwork, and underpay them.

And you can just tell them you were looking for work.
