:salute:

Real talk...we got nikkas out here looking down on the hood while being afraid to walk among their people at the same time. I don't know where cats are from where you get shunned if you make it college and come back to kick game.

I see it like this mayne. Yea its important to acknowledge problems. But after a certain point, talk doesn't mean shyt. If a problem is really important to you, eventually you have to do something about it, or STFU and acknowledge it doesn't mean anything to you.
I really don't know what you mean when you say "but after a point, talk doesn't mean shyt". You can't solve a problem until you can identify the root cause, so acknowledging white supremacy is essential to solving the problems facing the black community. I don't really get the "stfu and don't acknowledge it" crowd. As if you can't acknowledge and talk about white supremacy while rising above and overcoming it at the same time.

You talk about the prison industrial complex. Thats a deep problem that kind of starts as soon as these kids are in school. But at the end of the day, only 7% of black Americans actually go through it. Are way more affected? Sure, but the point is we bear all responsibility for the choices we make, and the fact that 100% of black males aren't going to prison says to me its more than "the system".
What does it say to you then? What exactly are you getting at? This is why I asked if you believe that blacks are inherently inferior or do you think that there are legit complex reasons for the state of our community? When you down play and dismiss the causes of the problems in favor of only talking about personal responsibity then you really aren't bringing anything to the table. We all know that you should "just say no" to everything that's bad. If only life was that easy. Unfortunately it's not that easy, and acting as if it is only perpetuates the problems that we face.

At the end of the day the best thing we can do is take the pieces of our lives we have control over into our own hands. Right now we are weak and looking to be saved by the very forces that people blame for our problems. If we take control of our lives we can position ourselves to be empowered and effect the systematic changes we need to make happen.
"We" can't do anything until we actually unite. The best thing that we can do is embrace the truth and use it to unite with each other because we are literally all we've got. After we unite and come together then we can look to take control of ourselves. Self hate is the biggest obstacle that is preventing us from coning together. We are too quick to sell our people out. We shouldn't look to whites to be saved from a system that they have deliberately put in place, and we shouldn't dismiss as ignore their system either.

I mean, people talk talk talk talk talk but then don't do anything beyond that. Eventually it becomes obvious people are using these reasons to remain inactive. "I cant get right till the white man stops holding me down"... "Yea we fukked up but we cant get rite till we tear down black women"... it just seems less like people are looking to identify and more to point fingers + scapegoat

Please don't try to paint me in this stupid ass eugenic corner. I never said or even implied that blacks are inferior. My pops exemplifies black excellence. So it pisses me off to see other black men throwing away all this opportunity. I'm not dismissing any problems. But at the end of the day we don't have control over those problems. We only have control over ourselves. So it makes more sense to start from what we can control than what we can't. You seem like the kind of dude to be asking why we can't control the weather instead of getting an umbrella

Self hate is not the biggest obstacle facing us. And saying "we are fukking up right now" is not self hate.

Again you know the law is stacked against us. What is the easier way to deal with it... convince the very folks who wrote the laws that are unfair to make them fair, or make the choices to not get on the wrong side of the law in the first place? Again only 7% of us catch federal charges.... its not hard

Like you said all we got is us... and right now we are weak.... so why are you so fixated on shyt we cant control????

This is a strawman argument. Who has said that it's ok to talk and not do anything? I've never said that it's ok to use white supremacy as an excuse to fail, who has said that? I don't condone anyone having the mentality that you described in those quotes. There's nothing wrong with pointing fingers as long as you're pointing fingers at the causes of the problems with the intent on solving them. Again the "just stfu and ignore white supremacy" approach isn't productive. The "just say no" approach to solving our problems just doesn't work. The solutions are a lot more complicated than that.

I didn't attempt to paint you as anything. I asked you direct questions in an attempt to clarify your position. I understand that your pissed off and so on at the state of the black community, but the solutions to the problems are complex not simple. Telling black people to "stfu about white supremacy and just do better" doesn't solve anything. Earlier in reference to the prison industrial complex, you implied that black kids are being conditioned to be introduced to the PIC in school. Actually black kids are conditioned to believe that they're "bad" by nature as soon as they are exposed to our society, see the "doll test". I agree with your point though. Amerikkkan society has conditioned everyone including blacks that we are inferior. This is why you see so much black on black crime. These kids are being brainwashed by our society to not value a black person's life, not even their own. The self hate in our community is a product of us believing the hype. The sad part is, we are ignorant to this for the most part. Most blacks don't even have a real understanding of institutional racism and how they are effected by it. You say that we should focus on what we can control and I agree. We can stop being ignorant to the institution of white supremacy. We can let go of all the self hate and unite as a people. We can work to break down the institution of white supremacy by organizing our resources(political power, wealth, influence, ect) and start to put pressure on politicians and other government officials that we support. There's tons to do in order to put our community as a whole in a position to overcome, but downplaying or ignoring the institution of white supremacy isn't one of them.

Self hate is not the biggest obstacle facing us. And saying "we are fukking up right now" is not self hate.
I disagree, self hate/lack of self esteem site buggiest obstacle for us right now. The reason that we can't unite is because we don't love ourselves, let alone one another.

You insist upon denying that you're downplaying the causes of our problems but you turn right around addi just that by saying things like "only 7% of us catch federal charges", it's not hard". Look, the PIC is the new slavery. The war on drugs is really just a war on black people. I don't know what the exact percentages are, but the PIC has had a major effect on our community. It's :mindblown: to see you try to downplay it. Again your "just say no" advice is worthless, what else do you have? Your thought process is too simple for you to offer anything that's productive. I'm not fixated on things that we can't control. My position is that once we stop being ignorant to the truth then we won't have a choice but to unite. Once we unite around the truth then the sky will be the limit. The whole "stfu and just do better" position is waay too simple and it's completely ignorant. That's basically white people's position. "So what we sabotaged the race so that you'd finish behind everyone else, that's no excuse for being last"

Lacking the confidence to go after what you want and succeed definitely makes some complacent with mediocrity. Things can always be better but you have to believe that your hard work will be worth it in the end.

Exactly.. i see a lot of fear of trying something harder/different with 'reasoning' such as "but i might fail :to:" or "i'm ok, at least i'm doing better than some ppl, some ppl don't even have food:wtb:" etc

The overwhelming majority of the responses in Trigga's thread were a prime example of this mentality
