It's different for someone who's solely a screenwriter, hollywood would buy your shyt just to give the idea to someone else. That's how they gobble up most spec scripts.

If dude's gonna write and direct his own shyt, :salute: I just like to write, never had an interest for being behind the camera.

I sold a script before, I know how it works. Again, go to your local University and recruit and if you ain't going to do the work yourself. Young 20 somethings who will work on the back end and have access to university film equipment. There really is no excuse for not getting it done.

True. But i think the point pf this thread is to make black films that have the same commercial distribution in theatres as others.
I know but u gotta do something in the meantime. Waiting for black people in Hollywood ain't productive. Look at Tariq Nasheed. He came out with that wack ass horror movie but he still made a move.

Let's be honest as much as the word is thrown there is no such thing

One is necessary, but with all the c00ns in the industry it will be quickly disrupted

There was a black hollywood in the 80's & 90's.
It was all of the the black entertainers who were popular/known to african americans. All those black 90's actors/actresses, movies, singers, rappers, super models. They were black hollywood. They were everywhere in entertainment. We had our own movies, tv channels radio stations shows. The parties.

No one ever really refers to a location.

Just like they say "young hollywood", they're talking about the young people in hollywood, not a location.
