Kinda hazy as to what impact classics is supposed to mean tho. For me it's hard to name an album that was classic that didn't impact anything ..

I understand that some albums that was shytty had some impact on the game but IMO there isn't too many that did that because the game only changes once in awhile ..

I personally would say that Kanye first album was a classic and even maybe late registration too.

But I'm gonna go with "who is Mike Jones" .. Just when that south era was jumpin off ..

the album doesn't have to be shytty. the quality just has to be less than classic.

I probably have a higher standard for classics than you. Kanye had some nice albums, but classic is an overstatement. his stuff was way too flawed, and downright hackish at times.

I don't agree but respect what you saying.

For me 'college drop out' is a certified classic tho ..

Dude trap music is about drug dealing & criminal activity on hard ass beats that's what gangsta rap is :what:

Jeezy & ti albums are the ultimate representation of gangsta rap no politics no boom bap, no riggity figgity rapping just guns dope & murder on hard beats especially jeezy album

Trap is a way of living its about drug dealing not a sound plus none of the so called trap music you hear today sounds like trap muzik or tm101 which is supposedly the representation of the sound now

Future, young thug or the migos are not true trap rappers

Plus trap muzik wasnt about the sound when referencing trap music that album sounding like your average southern gangsta rap album

The only reason dudes claim the bar was set low is because the south owned the radio, the charts & the streets & because of that hip hop was supposedly dead

But in all actuality it was some great rappers still making good music at that time

Jeezy brought a street rooted satisfaction to southern gangsta rap at that time that made nikkas concentrate on album structure & sequencing & made nikkas step they cocaine punchlines & bars up ala ross & yo gotti

All that other shyt you talking is opinion ti game jeezy & 50 are all all time greats that would be great in any era & their best albums will go down in history for thier sounds & impacts

there were people rapping about drug dealing & criminal activity over hard ass beats before the term gangsta rap even existed breh. and schooly d was the 1st to do it and hes not considered a gangsta rapper. I cant even remember the last time I heard the term gangsta rap being used in real-time.

well the south did play a part in rap dying, but theyre not the main reason for it. that plan was already in motion. the south were just pawns in the grand scheme of things. major pawns, but still pawns. also, dudes like TI & jeezy weren't rappers who were seen as part of the problem, so I don't see why we're even arguing about this.

and i'll say this; jeezy is a great artist, but the fact that you think jeezy of all people, made rappers step their lyrics up, is telling of how far down the bar was lowered by that point. its so bad, that you don't even realize it when you type what youre typing.

and no diss, but I see you dodged the age question. so youre basing your assumption that these guys would be great in any era, off of the fact that they were poppin in YOUR era and you hold an emotional attachment to them. and lets not make this into a regional thing, cuz I'm into everybody. these guys wouldn't be tops in their own respective regions back in the day. i'll say this tho; jeezy, tip and also Gucci would be tops in any era of Georgia rap. i'll give them that much. that's the tri-fecta right there.

Your an idiot :stopitslime:

First of all im 39 & my favorite rapper of all time is rakim who imo is the epitome of what a real emcee is from his mystic his look to his cadence & bars

Second when i say gangsta rap im talking the likes of easy e, nwa, amw, spice 1, scarface, c-bo, trick daddy, master p pure gangsta rap artist you know the type of music that people claim destroyed communities

So when i speak of jeezy ti 50 & game im speaking of pure gangsta rap not hip hop in general

And those albums & artist would exist & have impacts in any era where gangsta rap was pivotal & thats been every year & every decade since the late 80s

But im just talking gangsta rap :whoa:

Even though those tm101, the doc, GRODT & trap muzik surpass the just gangsta rap category in terms of influence, cultural impacts or record sells

You want to convince me brotha j, the intellgent hoodlum, wise intellect, the umc's or special ed :mjlol: are better & have better discographies thats another discussion for another day :camby:

And when i say jeezy made nikkas step they pens up i was somewhat joking but serious when talking cocaine bars "dirty birds nikka i played with them falcons i know some nikkas in decator that paid for them falcons" :lawd:

TM 101 is a drug dealer masterpiece :manny:

But all that other shyt you talking like killing hip hop & some stupid plan from some invisible elite group to destoy the community get it out my face go discuss that shyt with them other squares :camby:

if youre 39. youre a dikkhead.

from you coming out of nowhere with un-provoked name-calling at 39 to sounding like ur 19 all thru the thread.

that disrespect chit is when I tune dudes out. but then all the other stuff you said in here, shows that youre either lying about your age or you got into rap late. and its not the differing opinions. its the questionable stuff that youre saying.

lol @ jeezy making dudes step up their cocaine bars. man get all the way the f*ck outta here. and then you ramble off a bunch of middle-of-the-road '90s names that nobody is even talking about, in hopes of proving your point.
