2pac was 19 when this dropped.

Think of how many other 19 year olds debuts were so revolutionary as far as content?

also its not supposed to be as strong as later work because that what growth is. Every artist is supposed to grow throughout their career.

Pac was 20 but that is still very very young. Only 20 year old that I know of what has a classic album is nas.

maaaaaaybe thats it cuz the beats are fukking terrible I cant listen to this shyt honestly cuz it sounds really dated, and on top of that its some WEAK dated shyt unlike say Death Certificate for example... add the fact that Pac was at his worst stage lyrically and wasnt as charismatic as he would become and u have a weedplate imo

:what:

Now you hating on DC too?

I think its a classic just based off the fact that its the GOATs first album. And it wasnt a bad album far from it.

I will say this, whether you believe all of his albums are classics or not, 2pac is still probably the only rapper who has a couple of timeless, classic songs on every album, for someone with multiple albums.

Just because it's not the best or most talked about Pac album, doesn't mean it's not classic. It has classic songs that are arguably better than most songs on other rappers' debut albums. Also, it inspired many rappers who hadn't come out yet at that point such as Nas and Outkast. Add to that the Dan Quayle controversy and based on its influence alone it is a classic album. It's just that people feel it is too much to call Pac's first 2 albums classic 'cause that would mean all of his albums pre-death are classic basically.
But if you compare 2Pacalypse Now and S4MN to other albums that people call classic now such as College Dropout and what not, it's crazy to deny that Pac's albums are at least as impactful or good as those. So why are they not classics? Because Pac already has three more famous classics?
2Pacalypse Now is what Nas tried to emulate in a 2000's version, only Pac's album dropped right at the right time at the height of tensions between black people and authorities (With the Rodney King situation and everything). Also it dropped right on the verge of the transition of the old school hip hop sound to the more modern 'new school' sound and is one of the few albums to have a bit of both in them. That alone makes it a unique and important album.

Brenda's Got A Baby
Soulja's Story
Part Time Mutha
If My Homie Calls
Trapped
Words of Wisdom
Violent

These are all classic Pac tracks and they make up more than half the album.
And the other ones aren't bad by any means either..

It's easily Pac's most overlooked record but it's definitely a classic album in its own right..

I still like S4MN more though.

Nah it was just different..and unlike his peers..Pac's production team was asscheeks during that period.

He didnt have the support Jay, Big and Nas had for their first albums.

The album he would have released after 7 Day Theory wouldve been :takedat::takedat::takedat::whoo::whoo:

It's been said that he was planning to alternate between 2Pac and Makaveli releases

I know he was working on that One Nation album and he wanted to give the fans a MATW 2 because they loved it that much when he was in jail.
