Idk, hogan couldnt outdraw austin when they were both at the top of the card :yeshrug:

To say that bret hasnt drawn as much money as jericho isnt even a diss to bret.

What? Hogan didn't outdraw austin? Also can't compare a babyface on top and a heel on top. Have to compare Austin and Goldberg

Bret easily. Longevity doesn't mean shyt if you have a span of years where you didn't draw shyt, and that's the case with Jericho. Hell, people talking about how relevant Jericho is now should go back a year or two ago when people were flat out sick of seeing him show up. It's amazing he managed to make himself relevant again this late in his career but he has never been a consistent draw like Bret was throughout his career.

In terms of longevity, it has to be Jericho. No doubt about that as Jericho has been a top guy longer than Bret was. But if you compare peak years, it'll probably be Bret. I can't really say for sure though, since I really don't give a shyt about draws :manny:

Maybe I've been missing something all these years but to me draws are a RIDICULOUS measure. It's not boxing or even UFC sometimes where the undercard is filled with legit no names.

I agree. That's why I don't understand why wrestling fans give a shyt about drawing power.

The sad truth about Bret is that he wasn't much of a draw. When he was the top guy, the American wrestling industry was about as low as it could get. Outside of the US, he was a consistent and big draw, but WWE did much less international touring in the 90s, basically just the UK and Germany with the occasional show in Austria or Italy, and then a few tours of Japan mostly in 1994. And while international touring had better houses for most of the 90s, it's hard to use that as the metric for how much of a draw he was as a top guy in America.

The same argument goes for HBK, who was also a top guy during a very down period, and then WWE exploded once HBK and Bret were out of the picture, coincidentally within months of each other. I think a lot of people confuse and conflate draw with over with the crowd who was there/being fans of them yourself. Bret's return to WWE in 2010 pulled a bigger rating than he ever did when he was the top guy for them.

Edge's reign on Smackdown killed its ratings forever, and I personally don't think Jericho should even be in the discussion since he spent the vast majority of his career not even in a position to be the one drawing fans in anyway. Outside of his Undisputed reign (which tanked hard, for various reasons, not just poor booking but also weak performances and least credibility of the four that could have won the title) and his 2008 run that had critical acclaim with the HBK feud, but did worse numbers at every event than the 2007 and 2009 editions of PPV he headlined, he was a mid-upper mid carder almost his entire career.

Probably Roddy Piper.

@Ed MOTHERfukkING G :laff: :laff. :laff: at Tanahashi being the GOAT japanese draw. That's like saying CM Punk is the goat US draw :dead:
Yeah clearly that part of the response was hyperbole. He did rebuild nipw though. Im dead serious about jericho though. No canadian has drawn more money than him unless we are including piper's sketchy canadian/oregon and allegiances

Bret for sure, especially if you factor in international drawing power. Lots of wrestlers cosigned that Bret was pretty big in a buncha countries overseas.

How can you call him the draw when Jericho was only a main eventer for a year total of his 25 year career?
