You can be a draw and not close a card, and jericho attracts people to wrestling tv and crowds. He has done so to a greater amount than bret hart.

How can you tell? All you can know for sure is see that ratings and PPV buys dropped when Jericho was headlining them as compared to the same events/time the years before and after. Which absolutely happened with him during his Undisputed reign and both of his WHC runs. In real terms, Jericho is a bigger draw than Bret by default since the audiences were much bigger than Bret's period. In relative terms...I don't think it makes any sense that Jericho could possibly be considered more of a draw as a career mid/upper mid carder for 95% of his career than a guy who headlined for WWE for 6 years.

Jericho was never on top. Bret, even though he wasn't a "huge" draw..was still on top and had years in the 90s when he was a top10 draw in the world and 2 years where he was the #1 draw in America. this isn't a guess or made up facts, this is by actual numbers.

Jericho had like 2 or 3 years when he was a top 10 draw during the early 2000s, but he was never the man. that was off the back of rock and austin.

shyt, in 2002, when he had his title reign, he was for sure below Rock, Austin, HHH, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, HULK fukkING HOGAN, very likely Brock after Summerslam, and probably even RVD. Top 10 draw at any point seems pretty generous to Jericho. Top 15, sure.

You also have to take into consideration that his times as a top guy were as a heel and the whole point was to put over a face (HHH in 2002, Batista in 2008, Punk in 2012). WWE has almost never been a heel territory, and Jericho didn't do a good job of making people care about the faces beating him.

Out of all those listed, Edge was the biggest draw and ratings improved when he first won the belt :yeshrug:

edge wasn't as big a draw as bret or jericho.

there's a list of the top draws per year that goes up to 2009. edge was never a top ten draw and he retired in 2011.
