Personally I’m tired of everything being considered “trauma” or given some label as some sort of condition the person has.
And no slight to the OP, he’s a solid poster, but this thread is an example of it. What is all this “checked out” crap?
There was a time when 12 year old Black boys had the same daily responsibilities of a full grown man(such as driving, operating heavy equipment, hunting, etc.) and didn’t shed a tear.
These days it’s “aww, he must be suffering from unhealed trauma that’s why he doesn’t want to work and prefers to order DoorDash. Someone needs to ask him why he’s checked out

.”
And I’m just like gtfoh with this bs
These are BOYS, soon to be MEN. Start treating them like that and they’ll follow suit.
But instead, people want to argue that it’s okay for the little boy to go play with Barbie dolls and for him to kiss his mommy in the mouth. Then when he’s 21 years old and worthless you’re sitting there wondering why this boy has no desire to build, create, or provide.
And then the solution is, “a therapist needs to ask him why is he checked out”, whatever “checked out” is supposed to mean.
Mofo needs get sent to the military or something foh with this coddling and therapeutic bs.
Put your foot up his behind like you should’ve done when he was a child and stop pacifying the poor fella.
I don’t know. I probably sound harsh to yall. Maybe I’m just too out of touch with these days and times man.
