I’d really like to hear what these interviews for coaches and recruitment pitches for players are really like. It’s no way someone can tell me that some of these dudes interview bad every time they look for a head coaching job. But other coaches soon as they hit the market are scooped up ASAP.

teams like the pelicans hiring van Grundy, Celtics have an opening, pacers, maybe bucks, twolves?, magic open, Portland, and the kings and wizards should be opening but they aren’t. So if another offseason goes by and guys like cassell, udoka, billups dont End up with front office jobs I will be surprised. I know all don’t want to be coaches but some of these teams need to reset at GM/Team President also.

My fault but the point still stands. A majority black sports that prides itself of being understanding and at the forefront of issues but only 6 head coaches are black. I don't see anymore than maybe 2 of the vacant spots going to a black coach so now we our up to 8? Stan Van Gundy got off the couch somewhere and was gifted a team with one of the league most talented young players. When was the last time a black coach was able to do that? No offense to Hammon but I has a lot of work to do when it comes to their diversity and hiring practice.
It's actually 7 lol but you're right I wish it was more. I remember a few years ago almost half the coaches were black (at a time when there were only like 2 black coaches in the NFL), now it's shifted in the other direction for some reason.

Men aren't trying to be led by a woman.
Half of you guys have female managers at your current occupation as it is right now :stopitslime:. Change is coming and there will be a woman NBA head coach. I do agree that she would need to go to a team that is rebuilding and grow from there. She needs a long leash before a team can justify cutting her over performance.

Billups has turned down some jobs. He’s just really selective about what he wants (and there’s nothing wrong with that. Not every job is a good one. The Trail Blazers job is only a good job as long as Lillard is there. Once he ain’t, that becomes the job you DON’T want someone you like to get.)

Too many times we just look at the job title instead of the actual vacancy.

Who cares if she sat the bench for 7 years. Pat Ewing was an assistant for over 10 years in the league and Juwan Howard was an assistant with the Heat for 5 or 6 years. These are FORMER NBA players that had to go the college route to get a head coaching job..Why doesn't she have to go the college route to get a head coaching job? Its clearly an agenda when it comes to Hammon. There are several black assistants that have put in work that never gets the chance at a job but just because shes a white women that sat on the bench with POP she is suppose to be guaranteed an NBA Head coaching job? If she was black, they wouldn't be saying shyt.
You bring up two coaches who didn’t get a shot. And? Monty Williams and Jason Kidd became coaches, so what’s your point. And Nate McMillan. And Doc Rivers. And Tyrone Lue.

Plenty of coaches go from assistant to HC. So again, you have no point why she shouldn’t get a HC job. And let’s not forget…this is the second or third time she’s been up for HC spots. Truth be told she’s probably not going to get a job next season, either. A lot of assistants are worthy of jobs and don’t get a job…she’s on the list. And anyone who denies that has an agenda.
