Trust black capitalists brehs
All these companies being marketed as black companies have a final goal of being sold ......to cacs
Good for the stakeholders but people can’t get caught up in the illusion that it’s anything more than that

Two things.
1. I don't recall Jay-Z ever saying Tidal was a "black business", anyone who had a clue knew he bought ownership of a company
which started in europe.
2. This isn't a black bakery or corner store, this is a dude with a successful business that operates in multiple countries trying to
compete with venture capitalists and multi-billionaires. In that case, you inevitably have to secure more capital and partner with large companies
to even have a footing in the game.

Jay a finessing, money making machine. he's the American dream personified.
makes sense why he's been with him so much...he been running around with Jack ever since
"Black Twitter, what's that ? When Jack gets paid, do you ?"
good to see my three favorite rappers doing great. Jay-Z doing....well, everything and getting seats at all the tables, Nas impressive investment portfolio and Cam'ron has his weed company and is punching woman in the back of the head while fukking them to promote his sex juice.
just some legends setting the standards in all realms of life.
and they fukked the roll out so badly it hurt them and what should have been an early head start, set them back.
had to fight through years of jokes, scrutiny and bad press because of that cringey Avengers style video.

It's not even just cringe worthy roll out, it was the first time someone whose actually in the music industry
didn't just roll over and let Big Tech take their lunch. Apple, Netflix, Google etc. are the way they are because
these media-centric industries didn't want to create their own infrastructure or worse they were too late to create
anything meaningful. Once Jobs made Itunes or the Spotify Folks created their solution, the major labels were already
way behind the ball. So I can see why he decided to find a way to get a company going
as soon as humanly possible. And instead of celebrating it, people destroyed this dude for even daring to try.
With that said, his moves make sense.
Is it better to spend billion on a start up or buy a business that's already operating ? Warrent Buffett would go with option #2.
Competing with larger companies ? (As mentioned Apple for example is a trillion dollar company with ridiculous revenue
and cash reserves....) inevitably you need additional cash infusion or even more experts in tech. So you partner with
a huge Fintech company (presumably to offer some kind of financial services on top of what Tidal already offers ?)
These moves from the outside looking in, aren't inherently bad.
For the other posters in this thread:

Jay-Z didn't partner with Square-Enix, he partnered with Square the huge Fintech company currently doing battle with paypal.
