I was taught to protect and value my body above others, so if some strange woman is approaching me aggressively and tries to attack me, I will attempt to immobilize her the best way I can. If that means knocking her out, then so be it. I only have one life, and her by simply being a female doesn't mean her life is more precious than my own.

But in regards to the video, she was trying to protect her friend, and the guy slapped her. She was standing up for herself and her friend, so I don't get where you're coming from???

She was incapable of protecting her friend.
The best thing she could have done was grab her friend and run away.
When she punched that boy she opened herself to being punched back and everything after that punch was simply stupid and brought everything she got on herself. IMHO.
I didn't see her punching the boy as protecting her friend either since it was after the fact and it looked like they wer scuffling and pushing, I don't know what the issue was on that end.
