Out by me there's been a bunch of stories lately of these wannabe hero minimum wage workers getting murked in the process of defending COMPANY property or revenue and I just can't wrap my head around it.

Back when I worked these kinda jobs we were always told to basically let go and let god. It didn't matter if a dude came in with an obvious finger gun in his pocket or was clearly unarmed and just slipped a threatening note across the counter, we were always supposed to immediately hand over the cash (or liquor, cigarettes, etc) and back tf up. There is ZERO need to defend the property or profits of a multi-BILLION dollar corporation.

Not faulting this Ellis dude for keeping it on em because yeah some 'customers' absolutely do choose violence against random EMPLOYEES in response to little petty bullshyt like a slow order or whatever, but this was NOT that.

Sad story all around.

The problem is these crimes are being committed by people with zero people skills. When you draw a gun on someone, you put them in a situation where they fear for their lives. Fight or flight comes into play, along with waiting on an opportunity to flip the script.

Sensible thing to do to is provide the people being robbed with verbal reassurance that if they cooperate, no one will get hurt. At that stage, acting with defiance becomes a risk in their mind.

The article is very confusing to follow.

I'll break it down and see if I read it correctly.

16 year old girl and her best friend work at Burger King.

Best friend decides that it's an easy lick, because 16 year old will be working at the drivethru window and gets her dad to stage a robbery. 16 year old agrees to it.

Best friend's dad robs the Burger King but employee in the store shoots at Dad and hits 16 year old.

Pretty much. That and the dead one got scared while it was happening and wasn't executing which lead to a crash dummy (prolly in charge of fries) blasting his gun in the general area and hitting her and he's still on the run

So the guy who shot was trying to be a hero I assume? He thought ole girl was really in danger? If that’s the case I hope they don’t go too hard on him but he’s still a moron.

Bust your gun to protect $50 of @The Burger King money and kill a 16 year old girl brehs

Ellis need to be charged with being retarded

Ehhhhh pop's had a semi automatic handgun with him so that complicates things. Ellis should have just stayed on the scene instead of dipping out as all he did was made it more difficult on himself. He would have had a viable argument of walking otherwise outside of the gun that he obviously shouldn't have had on the job.

This is the important part right here, she realized it was a bad idea and yet the father still insisted on robbing the place and tried to come through the window. Girl was 16 and decided not to go along with the plan, maybe she didn’t like the plan from the gate but her best friends family was pushing her to do it. Yet a lot of y’all got smoke for this 16 year old calling her all kinda names and shyt :gucci:
