i'm 20 so i got into nas' music late.in 2004.i heard about him b4 with ''i can", one mic n ''made u look".but i was more into the whole gunit/shady/aftermath wave.it reached a time i wanted more poetry from rap not just some white dude rapping about rapin his mum.that wasnt in my culture so i bought a bootleg street's disciple cd (you cant get a nas cd in africa plus we were 'poor' anyway so sue me, nikka).ever since i heard "the rest of my life" and the message to the feds i was like  this nikka on some poetic shyt.went and bought all th bootleg nas shyt from ilmatic to lost tapes.still  to this day.

The videos for It ain't hard to tell and Half Time.
After that they took down some music networks overhere so i had no acces to hiphop for a minute. Few years later my cousin gave me It Was Written.

to be honest I don't even remember
I think it was me at the park and a bunch of people started talking about him

And I checked him out... but it took time for him to grow on me
I didn't like him immediately

I didn't get on til "it ain't hard to tell" started playing on the local all rap radio station we had here back in the 90's. this was right after illmatic dropped.

Never a stan.

I was a casual listener (it aint hard to tell video was fly to me, this nikka had an aura or whatever) I first saw the video in 95 If im not mistaken.

The older dudes fukked with him, he was on the Cuban Linx album and I guess that made him an official real nikka in everybody eyes. I took their word for it. I was 10

If I Ruled The World/Street Dreams was my shyt.

I bought the firm album with my own money. it was aight..

I Am. is still one of my favorite albums. Nas is Like kinda made me a real fan.

Nastradamus made me start questioning this dude.

Then I heard the Eye for an Eye freestyle on that clue tape. It was over after that.
I became a believer. and started going through his old material.

1st Nas album I ever copped was It Was Written. I was feeling the album, I was already a fan and this was my favorite track on the album:

I also copped I AM when it 1st dropped. I remember watching the "Hate Me Now" video and I was like  I gotta get this album. "Nas Is Like" was the next single to be released and I was like

Been a fan ever since. Nas is probably the best to ever do it, lots of classics and a lot of longevity.

I first hears Nas on if I ruled the world, the message and affirmative action remix with ntm here in france, then Nas is like was my shyt and I liked Hate me now and Nastradamus but that was about it.

I was more into french rap until eminem, and then I was more into jay z, at the time of stillmatic I bought it mainly for the cover just like that, I thought it was a good album but just as good as blueprint.

The turning point was when I found a old tape of nas that I got with plenty of old nas track, the world is yours, it ain't hard to tell, dr knockboot, escobar seasons begin freestyle ect, it sparkled my attention, then the lost tapes dropped and that was a wrap, when I heard Black Zombie, Doo rags, Nothing last forever or Purple, I was amazed to me that was far more superior to ANYBODY else, before that I was more into the technical capacities of Em but here there was a substance, an atmosphere and the voice and way Nas made you LISTENING that was ill.

Then I started buy all of Nas' album, what's funny is that I felt Nastradamus and I am more than Illmatic and It was written, I thought Illmatic was too old school for me but it grew on me to the point where when I grabbed the lyrics I was shocked :krs: that album is now my favorite ever

And what sealed the deal even more further is the incredible unrealesed catalog, after 2003 and the explosion of internet, I grabbed all of Nas shyt and I became a stan
