Why not just keep Wallace and go wr in first round?
Not like one is dependant on the other.

Now cutting hartline? Meh, could care less. Except watching him go to New England and be all pro. Though would suck.

I still think we need a stud lb in this draft. Or dline first pick
He's not worth his cap hit and he's just doesn't fit in this offense with Ryan

I think they should look at Percy he fit into this offense perfect

Wallace actually had a fairly decent season. Another off season together, plus the emergence of Landry, and HOPEFULLY a better line, and some commitment to running once in awhile will help out tremendously.
Clay only started to put it on near the end as well.

Percy is good, but I feel Landry can fill that role. We need a big receiver, a true end zone threat.
Wether it's a wr, or a te (still think clay could be that guy with more consistency) would be great.

Moving the ball from 20-20 was not the Dolphins problem. It was the redzone that killed them.

only O pick id like in the 1st would be guard, too deep @ WR to use an early pick on it

DT or corner would be ideal, I think Trae Waynes could start right away opposite Grimes. im not giving up on Jamar Taylor but hes still such a ?

there could be some money to play with if Wheeler, Ellerbe and Hartline all get cut. Vernon is the only guy I want to extend and even that doesn't have to get done yet

I'm not sure if I want a guard in the first

If need was tackle? Sure...but guards usually aren't worthy of a number one pick.

We do need a guard for sure, and maybe with the second we do it. But I think i. The first we need an impact player.

Like run stopper, lb

We were getting killed by the run in the 2nd half it might not be that much a reach to get Perryman at 14 considering how much an impact he would have stopping the run

The other biggest need is DT Starks prolly is gone and maybe Odrick

The Miami Dolphins own the No. 14 overall pick in April’s NFL draft.

It’s a solid draft slot. Miami (8-8) also finished .500 last season and had the No. 18 pick.

Who should Miami select in the first round to fill its needs? ESPN.com’s Dolphins page provides its first mock draft that will be updated throughout the offseason.

No. 1: LB Shaq Thompson

School: Washington

Stats: 78 tackles, 4.5 sacks, four interceptions

Analysis: The Dolphins will have a major makeover at linebacker next season, and the draft could be a big part of the equation. Veteran linebackers such as Dannell Ellerbe, Philip Wheeler and Koa Misi may all be on thin ice as the team looks to bring in fresh talent. Thompson is one of the top linebackers in college football and is good against both the run and pass. Thompson also has strong character and worth ethic, which are important traits for Miami’s regime led by general manager Dennis Hickey and head coach Joe Philbin. It’s hard to find reasons why the Dolphins wouldn’t be interested in Thompson.

No. 2: DT Danny Shelton

School: Washington

Stats: 88 tackles, 9.0 sacks

Analysis: If you watched Miami’s run defense crumble in the final six games last season, it should be clear why the Dolphins would have interest in Shelton. At 332 pounds, he’s a natural run stuffer in the middle who could help improve Miami’s 24th-ranked run defense. Miami also could lose starting defensive tackle Jared Odrick to free agency and may release Randy Starks. That would leave Earl Mitchell as the only experienced defensive tackle from last season.

No. 3: RB Melvin Gordon

School: Wisconsin

Stats: 206 carries, 1,609 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns

Analysis: Is running back a big need for Miami? Not necessarily. But if Gordon, the best tailback in the draft, is on the board at No. 14, the Dolphins have an interesting decision to make. Gordon is dynamic and has nearly all the skills that translates to an every-down tailback in the NFL. He could join with Lamar Miller to make one of the most dangerous backfield duos in the AFC. A quality and consistent running game would help everyone, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

No. 4: WR Kevin White

School: West Virginia

Stats: 109 receptions, 1,447 yards, 10 touchdowns

Analysis: Wide receiver is another position of change for Miami. The team has decisions to make with the contracts of veterans Brandon Gibson and Brian Hartline. There also are questions as to whether No. 1 receiver Mike Wallace will return, although I expect Wallace to stay. White is the big-bodied receiver Miami’s offense could use on the perimeter. He's also very good after the catch, which is valued in Bill Lazor's offense. The physical talent is there. With Wallace’s speed, Jarvis Landry’s hands and toughness in the slot, White could fit in well.

AM I the only one who kinda wants Rex Ryan as HC? IF and only if we can get a good OC to work with him since he's offensively challenged.

With TannenBaum as our football head man i could see that happening. I wouldnt mind bringing Rex in NOW as Defensive coordinator, fire Philbin after next year (win or lose) and have Rex as HC and one of his goons as DC

Yes, you are. It's bad enough we get all these Jets fans at are games. We don't need to bring in anymore of their scraps and become the New York Dolphins

Man i only wish this were true. YOu can tell when reporters are just pulling stories out of their asses. I was a Philbin Supporter but this year was it for me.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...mors-buzz-on-head-coachs-future-with-dolphins

The Dolphins have offered head coach Joe Philbin a two-year contract extension, but it's unclear at this point whether the head coach will accept it.

Continue for updates.
Quinn Could Replace Philbin If Head Coach Leaves
Wednesday, Jan. 14
According to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn could take the Dolphins head coaching job if current coach Joe Philbin doesn't accept the extension being offered to him:

One thing to keep in mind w/Dan Quinn- his former agent, Mike Tannenbaum, is running Miami. Some teams worried if they wait for Quinn he...Could end up replacing Joe Philbin next month, regardless of what the Dolphins are saying. Jets had that concern, at least to some degree Tannenbaum no longer reps Quinn and Fins maintain support for Philbin but there are some skeptics who wonder if they'd pounce.

The mofo stating this sh!t with a bunch of "COULD" and "to some degree" just to give himself a way out because he knows it's speculations. I freakin hate these insiders.

Here are the most interesting Miami Dolphins stories from around the Web:
  • Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post takes a look at potential free-agent targets for the Dolphins.
Morning take: Miami must first make a lot of cuts to create cap room. That will include plenty of decisions on in-house free agents such as receiver Brian Hartline, linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler and others.
  • Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald says continuity in the NFL is overrated.
Morning take: When things aren’t working, keeping it together isn’t necessarily the best strategy. That is part of the reasons change is taking place all over the league.
Morning take: Both players deserve the honor after good rookie years. Miami needs equal production from its first- and second-round picks this year.
  • Dolphins executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum tells WQAM the key is developing players.
Morning take: Miami has had mixed results over the years in that area. The Dolphins need to identify the right players and coach them up to their potential.
